This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated behaviour consultant to support multiple people across Kent to live, love, thrive and belong. Supporting people in their own homes, you will have experience supporting people with a learning disability, autism, and mental health conditions who have also experienced trauma.

The role as the Behaviour Consultant Lead will be to:

• Work closely alongside our support teams to conduct comprehensive assessment, intervention, and evaluations over the long term, developing positive behaviour support plans that enable therapeutic support to be delivered within a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework. 
• Deliver PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training to our support teams. 
• Coach our support teams how to deliver excellent support, using approaches such as Active Support. 
• Support the team to develop skills in monitoring and evaluating outcomes, for example using the Periodic Service Review.
• Support the business development team with new referrals, ensuring that we are working within our defined model of support and developing that model to meet new needs where appropriate.
• Work with the families of the people we support to continue to build open, honest, and transparent working relationships.
• Ensure that your work is always delivered through a trauma-informed lens, upskilling the team around you to consider the impact of trauma on their practice.

Our Clinical Assessment & Intervention Team (CAIT)

Led by a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst and UKBA(Cert), we have highly specialised team of clinicians, including rehabilitation workers for the visually impaired and behaviour consultants. We assess functional vision and test for cerebral visual impairments, which can often be an overlooked establishing operation for behavioural challenges. As well as direct assessment and intervention to work to increase people’s opportunities in life, we train our support teams to meet the people we supports’ unique needs.  Our team members are committed to joint working with families, support teams and our NHS and local authority colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.

We work as partners with the residential or supported living teams to build plans that are accepted, operationally achievable, generalisable, and sustainable. 

Your experience & personal characteristics 

As you will be working with people in their own homes, residential and group supported living services, you must be confident engaging with diverse groups of people, family members and multi-agency professionals.  You need to be passionate about equality and equity, being able to see the potential for improvement and knowing how to guide the person we support and their team to achieve the best. You will already have experience working directly with people who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, multi-sensory impairments, and people who may present behaviours that challenge.  You will be fluent in the use of applied behaviour analysis to devise ways that are simple but effective to measure baseline and on-going development.  You will be able to support our teams by putting plans into action through your direct modelling.

Your qualifications

This position requires a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis or a related field (such as Positive Behaviour Support) with at least two years of applicable experience; or Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, with one year of professional experience. 

Candidates wishing to work towards their BCBA or UKBA(Cert) qualification will get their supervision as part of this role.

Ruils is a user-led charity that supports disabled adults and people with long-term health and/or mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families.

We are working with the SWL ICB and local GPs to deliver an exciting new service within Hampton North. The Community Health and Wellbeing Worker will speak to households about health and wellbeing, alongside offering support to connect people to services and activities in their local community. • Responsible for ensuring active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and to ensure representation of Ruils at networking events.
• Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

What will you be doing?

You will be the parent or carer of a child or young person with Autism.

You will provide an advice, information and guidance service to predominantly Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) and East European families in the London Borough of Ealing who have been referred to the All Age Autism Hub for assessment.

You will respond to first enquiries and contribute to the Ealing All The Autism referral hub service development and workings of the Hub as an expert by experience.

You will support group sessions for the Autism Hub as well as any of the Ealing run projects as and when required. You will support the Hub clinical team and Contact Ealing colleagues with administrative support around group sessions and training for families and professionals.

You will assess families’ needs and plan actions with parents’ participation as per their needs. You will encourage parent carers’ empowerment and involvement in the project.

About the role

You will be expected to lead and deliver a proportion of day opportunity activities as part of the planned programme and as an opportunity to provide practice leadership to the wider team. What will you be doing?

As a Service Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support to those we support and you will help the Regional Service Managers to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Hft to help ensure we have the best staff teams offering great support services. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your knowledge and skills.

The purpose of the role is to assist the Regional Service Manager by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the registered service. You will also have the responsibility to manage the performance of your team; including your team’s delivery of care and support which promotes dignity, wellbeing and independence and a person-centred culture.

Alongside the Regional Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service.

As a senior member of the team, you will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support and their colleagues come to no harm and that the people we support are satisfied with the level of support they receive by acting as an exemplary role model.

As a Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. We provide 24/7 support to some people, so you will need to have flexibility to work shifts on a rota basis, including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.

A full UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle, is essential for the role.

lead a team of carers to ensure the care we provide is to the highest standard and that education, leisure and work opportunities are incorporated into our learner’s programmes
provide support to the Supported Living Manager, deputising in their absence
work in partnership with our onsite College to support our learners to achieve the outcomes specified in their EHCP.

As part of this role you will also be required to carry out duties as the Person in Charge for the service on a rostered basis, acting as a Duty Manager ensuring safe staffing and responding to issues arising during the course of the shift. It is therefore essential that you are solution focussed and have good problem solving skills.

About you

The successful candidate will have previous care experience, including a Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and as a self-motivated individual, you will be willing to work towards Level 3. Throughout your working day you will use elements of Makaton, Moving & Handling, First Aid, Epilepsy and Safeguarding so ideally you will have experience or knowledge in these areas (though full training will be provided during our induction).

This role will see you lead a team of staff under the direction of the Manager, so you will be pro-active and versatile with a positive can-do approach to your work. No two days are the same, so the ability to respond calmly and methodically to unforeseen events is essential to ensure the smooth running of the service.

You will:

• Have an in-depth knowledge of cerebral palsy, its causes, health implications, therapies, and available support due to a personal lived experience.
• Have experience and up to date knowledge of current issues that affect disabled people and those around them, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
• Have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment.
• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
• Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
• Be an excellent communicator who demonstrates effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.
• Be highly organised with the capacity to prioritise workloads effectively by using your own initiative. Ability to engage groups of people and individuals on the subject of cerebral palsy and disability.
• Have direct experience of the barriers that society creates for disabled people. Bringing drive and enthusiasm to the role, demonstrating that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people.

We are looking for a Senior Housing Officer who can oversee our specialist supported housing programme. They’ll handle the day-to-day management and maintenance of our houses, engaging with tenants and contractors, monitoring and acting on arrears and line-managing our tenant support officer.
