About this role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role plays an important part in supporting our Finance Team to support the delivery of SIB’s new strategy and focus.

Key responsibilities

  1. Prepare for and make weekly payments to SIB grantees, investees, employees and suppliers following laid down procedures.
  2. Entering invoices into Receipt Bank/Xero, checking that coding and budget data is correct.
  3. Matching Invoices to purchase orders and ensuring invoices are uploaded with correct authorisations.
  4. Responsible for timely payments of supplier invoices and managing payment issues that arise with suppliers including entering/uploading payment template data in Barclays ready for approval.
  5. Responsible for credit card reconciliations.
  6. Responsible for ensuring that, by month end, all bank reconciliations are completed for all 5 entities, required for Management accountants to run loan and grant reports. 
  7. Preparing the monthly Cash Analysis Report.
  8. Maintaining the upkeep of all bank accounts and loan repayments against Singlify to ensure that all cash management transactions are correctly recorded.
  9. To reconcile and post interest for non-feed bank accounts when statements are received.
  10. To set up payment templates for new payees within SIB’s agreed controls for suppliers, grantees, investees and team members.
  11. To upload/import payments for approval when grants and loan disbursement requests are required.
  12. To upload/import and arrange direct debit collections for investees on a monthly basis.
  13. Handling any payment issues raised by internal/external team members for timely resolution.
  14. Ensuring filing and archiving is up to date.
  15. Assisting other members of the finance team as and when required.
  16. Monitoring and maintaining shared finance (payable) mailboxes.
  17. To support the finance team to provide a high level of customer service - monitor and manage the shared mailboxes – purchase orders (as part of this own the purchase order register); invoices; accounts; support the finance team to integrate activities with other teams such as loans and grants functions.
  18. To work within the organisation's processes and procedures required to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  19. Contribute to the knowledge management, equality, diversity and inclusion and learning priorities in SIB’s strategy and support the implementation and delivery of the strategy.
  20. In agreement with manager to undertake other tasks that support the objectives of SIB as required.

Core competencies

  • Basic finance/accounting experience.
  • Understanding and experience of Xero accounting software.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work flexibly and willingness to learn new skills.
