Job description

We are looking to recruit a Membership Manager to join our growing team. The role will sit within the Social Value UK staff team, primarily within the Marketing Team, but working across the Engagement and Advocacy Teams.

About Social Value UK

Social Value UK (SVUK) is the professional body for social value and the UK’s national network for anyone interested in social value and social impact. We work with our members to increase the accounting, measuring, and managing of social value from the perspective of those affected by an organisation’s activities, through our Principles of Social Value. We believe in a world where a broader definition of value will change decision-making and ultimately decrease inequality and environmental degradation. 

To achieve our mission, SVUK provides training and assurance services, as well as hosting regular meetings and events, creating new tools and resources, and running campaigns. Through supporting and working with our members, and as a National Member Network of Social Value International, we are creating an international movement for change. 


The organisations has an office in Liverpool City Centre, but the role can be flexible on location and remote or hybrid working. You may be required to undertake national and international travel, and the role is likely to include travel to and from London. 


This is a permanent position. 

The successful applicant will be required to work 35 hours per week. Holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum. 

Role Description

The Membership Manager is responsible for managing the individual and organisational memberships with Social Value UK, including organising membership activities, developments, and relations.  The Membership Manager reports to the CEO of Social Value UK. The Membership Manager works primarily in the Marketing Team, and secondly in the Engagement and Advocacy Teams.

Overview of Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attract new members 
  • Provide support for existing members 
  • Manage and facilitate thematic social value working groups 
  • Develop and facilitate regional Social Value UK networks 
  • ​Online and in-person event management
