Job description

We are working in partnership with Solent Mind whose mission it is to make sure anyone in the local community experiencing a mental health issue has somewhere to turn to for advice, information, and support.  They have a strong reputation for the work they do locally to support people living with a mental health problem, and to prevent people becoming unwell.  Solent Mind work as active members of the Mind Federation, which supports people across the whole of England and Wales, to make sure their pioneering campaigns, information and research makes a difference in Hampshire.

Solent Mind is now seeking a new Chief Executive to deliver the mission of the charity, working with staff, service users, commissioners, partners and Trustees, in line with the core values of Solent Mind. 

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Significant senior management experience working within a substantial organisation, working with multiple partners
  • Experience of planning and delivering complex large scale strategic change
  • Ability to work with a proactive Board in supporting good governance and oversight of operational matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that engage and inspire a range of stakeholders
  • Sound financial, governance and risk management experience

You will provide clear and long-term direction to the organisation, develop highly effective partnerships, and ensure that the charity is well-run and delivers high-quality services.  You will be a passionate advocate for mental health, whilst providing excellent leadership to the staff and volunteers who work for Solent Mind.
