Job Description

Business Support Officer

Are you a highly organised person with a passion for helping children? We are searching for a talented part-time Business Support Officer.

Through our work in west London, we have seen hundreds of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, or those that have experienced trauma, become a part of our family through sports, arts, mentorship and adventure. They gain happiness, confidence and friendships that cut through different backgrounds and cultures.

First established in 2007, we first focused on sports – a fun, easy and healthy way to bring people together. Since then, we have listened to our children and their carers and added healthy eating initiatives, arts activities, educational group trips, mentorship programmes and holidays within the UK and abroad.

What binds these programmes is a commitment to creating a safe, open-minded, inclusive and loving environment, where we can come together and happy memories can be made.

Solidarity Sports is currently made up of three full time members of staff, three part time members of staff, five sessional staff and a talented raft of over 80 volunteers. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with our Director on many new and exciting projects that will encourage growth and awareness. You will have the confidence to negotiate excellent value for money in every transaction, as well as ideas of your own to help keep our organisation lean and efficient.

With your personable and confident manner, you’ll excel at building relationships with partners throughout London. Establishing solid connections, you’ll approach each organisation with support opportunities, that help Solidarity Sports projects thrive.

In return for their participation, you’ll plan, organise and execute engaging events, delivered by our Director, to help inspire the next generation of supporters. With a methodical approach, you’ll ensuring the smooth running of all back office functions, including assisting with fundraising and reporting on projects undertaken. Your key administration skills, systems-thinking and disciplined approach will help you excel in this position.

It is essential you are forward-thinking and proactive, with the confidence and background knowledge to take on this exciting role. You will pride yourself on your highly organised approach, constantly keeping up-to-date with upcoming events and initiatives within your remit and planning action accordingly.

If you have what it takes to develop Solidarity Sports, we want to hear from you.  We are looking for the right person and are prepared to be considerably flexible in terms of hours and days worked.
