Job description

Solihull Indoor Bowls Club (SIBC) is recruiting a Club Manager to lead the successful transformation of the club and its operations.  Building on the vision and aspirations of the Board of Directors, the post-holder will take the club forward by developing new business opportunities aligned to a new and exciting strategic plan to deliver an excellent sports and community hub that uses bowling and other activities to improve the health and well-being of members, non-members and the local community.

SIBC is a local charity and social enterprise located in the Hillfield area of Solihull and is an excellent community asset with huge potential. In the past year, despite the challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic, the Board of Directors has worked with its small and dedicated staff team to develop a new 3-year strategy that aims to enhance the experience of its existing membership and attract new members into the club. The successful post holder will also have the remit to work strategically with the Board to develop new opportunities for the local community around the health and wellbeing agenda. The bowls club is a great local facility with potential to grow its hospitality business which will be a key priority for the incoming manager. 

The post holder will lead on the transformation of SIBC to be an outstanding bowls club that delivers for its members, non-members and local community.  

We are looking for a person with great leadership skills who will initiate, develop and implement business growth across our operations. The successful candidate will work with the elected Board of Directors to develop and implement the organisation’s 3-year strategy: line manage staff; grow our existing business and income; develop new business opportunities; secure grant funding for new projects; and, be responsible for the overall management of day to day operations including responsibility for the efficient running of the club premises.

This will be a hugely rewarding role for someone with the ambition, skills and experience to help the Board of Directors achieve their vision.
