Main duties and responsibilities

· Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors to maximize financial support and our community of supporters.

· Plan and execute individual giving campaigns, across all available communication channels to engage donors effectively.

· Identify, organise and coordinate donor and community events, creating opportunities to engage, retain and celebrate supporters.

· Maintain accurate donor records, utilising data to inform decision-making and improve fundraising efforts.

· Prepare regular reports and analysis on individual giving performance.

· Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive individual giving strategy.

· Ensure activities are delivered to budget and performance effectively tracked.

· Provide a monthly report to the Head of Fundraising

· Work closely with the Head of Fundraising, Trusts Fundraiser, PR & Communications Officer, Fundraising Administrator and CEO, and liaise with the rest of the charity’s team.

· Compliance: maintain accurate records in accordance with data protection and fundraising regulations.

· Strategy: play a part in assisting the Head of Fundraising and Chief Executive in developing the Fundraising Strategy, budget and targets in line with the charity’s Strategic Plan.

· Provide support with events and admin as needed, including attendance at functions outside of normal working hours.  

Ideal skills and experience:

· Experience in generating income from all or one or two of the following: individual, community and events fundraising. 

· Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write compelling stories and innovative content for fundraising campaigns.

· A strong understanding of the importance of knowing your supporter base to maximise income through effective donor communication and engagement.

· Strong data management and analysis skills

· Good knowledge of current data protection/GDPR regulation.

· Good working knowledge of CRM databases and how to utilise to steward supporters.

· Good level of administrative and organisational competency

· Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases (currently Donorfy and Act!)

·Previous experience working in a charity/non-profit

· Willingness to attend events and meetings etc, for which expenses will be paid.

Required experience

A strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, set priorities and drive results, you will have experience in developing and sustaining funding streams using a variety of techniques to secure restricted and unrestricted funding, major gifts, grants, events, and corporate partnerships; combined with exceptional communication skills to engage and inspire donors, volunteers and stakeholders. You will be able to motivate and develop a high performing team, set targets, and promote a collaborative culture. Colostomy UK is a national charity that offers support and advice to people who have had stoma surgery (ostomates) and to their friends, families and carers. Our projects empower ostomates to return to sports, hobbies and other activities after their surgery and give them the confidence to take on fresh challenges. We advocate for ostomates’ rights and are their voice on the bigger issues. Our campaigns raise awareness of life with a stoma and encourage organisations to make their facilities more inclusive.

About the role:

As the Fundraising Executive you will work to grow income through developing our community engagement, attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters (individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, volunteers etc). You will lead on the stewardship of events and challenges, including our annual Step Up campaign, by supporting individuals and groups to raise funds through fundraising activities. The post-holder will also support the recording of donations, send appropriate acknowledgements, review fundraising materials, and prepare fundraising content for social media, our website and our quarterly magazine, Tidings.

You will be joining a collaborative and innovative team of individuals who put our community first and are connected by a passion to make a real difference. We offer the opportunity for professional development across a range of fundraising disciplines, including community, individual giving, digital, legacy and corporate, as well as the potential to support fundraising from charitable trusts. The right candidate will be in a prime position for career progression as we grow our small team.

Practicalities:

This role may involve occasional overnight stays, early mornings, evenings and weekends so some flexibility is a must.

Ideally you will work regularly at our head office in the first few weeks in post to aid a successful induction period. Following this, you may continue to be office-based full time, or work on a hybrid or remote basis.

We are looking for a motivated, confident individual with strong organisational skills and an impeccable attention to detail, who is passionate about supporting people living with stomas and those who care about them. The successful applicant will be expected to have a broad understanding of a range of income generation methods and communication styles, and the third sector.

Core role responsibilities

 ·Working alongside the Fundraising Manager to implement the fundraising strategy, with a focus on building unrestricted income

·Donor stewardship, including recording and thanking for donations, and other supporter communications, to encourage long-term, repeat support – engaging existing supporters, making them feel valued, proud, and committed to supporting the charity

·Working with our supporters to organise and host interesting activities and events in the community and digitally, to significantly increase fundraising income; ensuring excellent support of their activities during planning and delivery, and arranging attendance from the Colostomy UK team and volunteers as appropriate

·Preparing appealing fundraising materials and content for all types of communications

·Representing and raising the profile of the organisation externally by giving presentations and promoting the need for fundraising among different audiences

·Working with the Marketing & Social Media Executive to ensure fundraising is included in our public-facing communications, to supporters and audiences on social media, in newsletters and on other channels; ensuring our website, social media channels and print material are kept up to date with fundraising news and activities that inspire engagement and giving

·Supporting fundraising with analysis and reports to enable us to continue to build and improve our profile; monitoring engagement and conversions from different fundraising campaigns

The role: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with a passion for our mission, who will build positive relationships to secure significant income, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all.

This is a new role, leading our small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will oversee all fundraising income generation activity and lead on our Major Donor Giving Programme. A typical week could involve meeting with prospective donors, developing a case for support for a new stream of work, supporting team members to develop their own fundraising skills, and working with other departments to raise awareness of Bendrigg’s work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraiser to join and lead a forward-thinking and inclusive team and develop Bendrigg’s fundraising to support our new Strategic Plan. This opportunity is open to those wishing to work remotely (there would be an expectation to attend the office for a minimum of 2 weeks during the induction process, and thereafter at least 3 days per month throughout the year), looking for a hybrid working pattern or wanting to be fully office-based. The role is full time, however part-time on a minimum of 0.8FTE would be considered for the ideal candidate.

The Head of South England & Wales is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks in South England & Wales. This role will lead our team of Network Leads and Area Managers as they empower every food bank to orientate their work towards ending the need for their services through the provision of bespoke support, enabling them to reduce the numbers of people requiring emergency food. This role will work with key national partners in South England and Wales to support our network to tackle the underlying drivers of poverty.

Role responsibilities

· Responsible, as a member of the organisation’s Senior Leadership Team for leading the delivery of the Trussell Trust strategy for ending the need for food banks in South England and Wales, working to embed the Changing Communities, Changing Minds and Changing Policy programmes across the network.

· Lead the Area team in South England and Wales to ensure the safe and effective operations of the food bank network, in partnership Trussell Trust’s People Directorate.

· Oversee the investment in and upskilling of our Area team to ensure they have the capacity, skills and resources required to deliver the five-year strategy and support to food banks.

· Drive the delivery of the baseline service for food banks across South England and Wales, ensuring tools, resources, services and systems are fit for purpose and tailored to local contexts.

· Oversee the effective roll-out of strategic projects, partnerships and resources to food banks across South England and Wales, in collaboration with other Directorates, that help to reduce the need for food banks and tackle the underlying drivers of poverty.

· Work with the Strategy & Impact team and Policy, External Affairs & Research teams to ensure effective cross-departmental working on network facing policy and research opportunities, church engagement, external partnerships and impact reporting.

The Position:

Our outstanding charity client is recruiting an Interim Head of Fundraising (Election).  This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading and managing their fundraising initiatives, helping them to build strong foundations for the future, liaising high-profile donors, and maximising on the increased profile and visibility they will have during this election year.

You will be a key member of the management team and will work closely with teams across the organisation and their high-profile, experienced board to shape organisational ambition and exceptional fundraising practice.

You will also lead an ambitious multi-disciplinary team of fundraisers across all income areas.

Requirements:

• Significant experience of fundraising gained at a senior level, with a proven track record of securing and grant managing six-figure+, multi-year funding from charitable trusts, companies and/or individuals.
• Confident in managing key donor relationships.
• Comfortable directing and supporting senior staff to engage in fundraising.
• Good knowledge of and networks in the UK fundraising space, including working with major donors, charitable trusts and individual giving.
• Experience of working with donor CRM systems to support high quality relationship management, preferably Salesforce.
• Available to start immediately.
