Caseworker
Forces Employment Charity is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Caseworker to join our team working on the CFO (Co-financing Organisation) programme in partnership with the probation service. In this role, you will provide specialist support to veterans within the criminal justice system, focused on early intervention, support and diversion to prevent re-offending. You will work closely with probation staff, partner organisations and lead providers to identify, engage and deliver emotional and practical support to veteran clients.
This is a Full-time 35 hours per week, home based role with regular attendance at Lewisham and Croydon Activity Hubs and frequent travel throughout the UK. This role has a salary £29,000 pa.
This will be a fixed term contract till 31 July 2024.
Role Overview:
For the CFO programme, Forces Employment Charity is working in partnership with probation service staff and other partner organisations to provide specialist support for veterans in the justice system.This support is focused on early intervention, support and diversion at point of contact with justice system in order to prevent re-offending.
The successful applicant will be providing activities and support to clients within a formal contractual framework working to challenging targets.The role holder will need a strong beneficiary focus and the ability to rapidly form relationships with partners and local agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with partners to identify and engage veterans with the CFO Programme.
- Undertake needs assessments with each veteran and jointly develop their support plan.
- Work as part of a team, together with Probation Service Staff and Lead Provider staff, was well as partner organisations providing specialist support.
- Deliver emotional and practical support to veterans working with partner organisations to provide specialist support for each individual as required.
- Work with the veteran to secure employment.
- Optimise the delivery of activities which are separately billed as part of CFO Programme.
- Ensure that all activity is recorded on the MOJ CATs system, or other system as required by the contract.
- Deliver any further activities reasonably required by the Op Nova National Manager or CFO Contract Manager, the Nova National Manager and the Forces Employment Charity.

You will also complete monthly pension contribution submissions and contribute to the production of financial statements and the delivery of a successful audit . You will perform any other reasonable tasks required by the CEO.
This role requires proven experience of using insight and analysis to provide trends, inform and drive business decisions and experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs.
The successful candidate will have a strategic, collaborative and solution focused approach to support excellent service provision and fiscal responsibility. They will also show demonstrable innovative ability; using data and insight to inform recommendations for improvements to products, processes or activities. This Senior Project Officer role sits in our Innovation and Practice Function. Key Purpose:
Contribute to the coordination of assured services at RABI and support with the administration of the Service Delivery Team liaising with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of the weekly grant process, collating relevant paperwork and creating purchase orders and reconciling invoices where appropriate.
- Manage the audit process of the weekly grants.
- Weekly monitoring of Staysafe Activity.
- Weekly monitoring of Service Delivery attendance at events.
- Monthly collation of Service Delivery statistics
- Support with the day-to-day enquiries to the Service Delivery Team via phone and email.
- Liaising with external agencies, including suppliers, as required.
- Coordinating internal and external meetings including taking minutes when required.
- General administration support as required.
- To provide cross functional support across departments.
- Be an ambassador for Service Delivery internally within RABI and with external organisations.
- Demonstrate commitment to Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety promoting a safe and inclusive environment.

A significant aspect involves managing the Charity’s IT hardware and software to ensure they meet the organisation's needs, including planning upgrades and coordinating IT training events. Additionally, the role covers managing telecommunications and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. It also involves working closely with the Head of Finance and external companies on new IT developments and data protection policies, ensuring the Charity's practices align with GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate would have experience providing IT support, be organised, have strong communication skills, and have a good understanding of Office 365 systems. They should be proactive, resourceful, and possess a problem-solving disposition, able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including external support companies. They should be organised and methodical, combining accuracy with attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain IT issues to non-IT colleagues and build constructive working relationships are a must-have.
