The Healthy Ageing Project will address specific challenges within the community, while actively promoting healthy ageing in practical and effective ways across our network.

We will focus on the strengths and expertise of our member groups to promote engagement with Ireland's unique music, dance, sport, language and culture.

We will work together with our members throughout this three-year journey. Together, we will develop, launch and promote a project geared towards improving health and wellbeing, reducing health inequality and providing strategic direction for national health programmes and policy recommendations for the Irish community.

This post is part time (17.5 hours per week) and will be based in the North of England, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester etc.

About the role

As a Dementia Adviser you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide support and guidance to people with dementia and their carers; helping to maintain their independence, improving their sense of well-being, and putting them in more control of their lives. The service is unique to each service user as it is based upon their personal circumstances and support needs.

- Using a person-centred approach, assess people’s needs so they can access information in their preferred style.
- Work closely with other teams and services within the Alzheimer’s Society to support people affected by dementia. 
- Maintain and effectively manage a caseload, providing support plans, enabling them to adapt to changes they may experience and provide appropriate support. 
- Provide structured on-going support and reviews tailored to the person needs as required.

You will offer support and guidance to your clients in a variety of ways, whether in the client's own home or at other locations, face to face, by phone, letter or email. You will assist service users to access other services, providing signposting and referrals, as well as facilitating peer support groups and other group activities

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as part of the Policy and Public Affairs team, during an election year, delivering a number of vital pieces of research designed to improve walking, wheeling and cycling and transport more broadly.  

As the Policy Officer, you will lead on delivering two key policy projects for Sustrans with support from our Head of Policy and Senior Policy Officer. You will help develop evidence, policy and practice working closely with colleagues to maximise long-term opportunities to help increase transport choice for people. 

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to a nearby office hub with an expectation of a monthly team meeting in Bristol and occasional travel for project related activity. 

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you 

You should have proven experience of conducting qualitative and quantitative research across a variety of issues and in writing for policy and public audiences.

Summary of the role and key purpose 

We’re looking for a Communications Coordinator to play a key role in supporting, delivering and monitoring RABI's communications and marketing activities. Working as part of RABI's growing communications team, the Communications Coordinator will take an active role in both communications and marketing across the organisation, providing support in areas including internal comms, social media, website development, email marketing, brand usage, advertising, media relations, public affairs, reporting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop content for various RABI communication channels including newsletters, intranet and website.

As the Trusts and Fundraising Officer, you will maximise income from trusts by the creation of high-quality applications and reports to funders, and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration. About the role

As Project Officer you will play a central role in the delivery of INTRAC’s consultancy assignments and grant funded projects. As a Support and Advocacy Officer you will join a skilled team who collectively provide a unique UK-wide support and advocacy service to over 1500 members. 

You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members.  This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. You will raise awareness within both the Fabry community and external agencies; and contribute to the development of resources, to promote self-advocacy within the patient group.  A key objective of the role will be to build a sense of community and identity for our Fabry membership.  You will also have the opportunity to facilitate and contribute to project work, including youth engagement, advisory boards, and support groups.

In addition to supporting the Fabry community there will also be a requirement to provide support to those affected by other conditions under our umbrella.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a good understanding of MPS and Fabry conditions
• Develop knowledge of legislation and best practice relevant to supporting people with life-long conditions
• Provide emotional support, information and guidance in areas such as diagnosis, disease awareness, health and social care and disability benefits
• Support individuals and families to access best possible clinical management and treatment options
• Support and signpost people towards mental health and psychological support as required
• Undertake UK-wide travel to visit individuals and families and attend meetings and events
• Support the provision of online support and advice via social media channels
• Promote awareness by giving talks and presentations to outside organisations, professionals and the general public

 Experience & skills

• Minimum of two years’ experience of working with individuals with disabilities within health and social care, education, or related field
• Ability to communicate accurately, concisely and with clarity
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to upholding best practices
• Excellent IT skills to maintain accurate case recording, produce clear reports, correspondences and presentations
• Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a small, dedicated team
• Experience of managing projects and service development is advantageous

Prior knowledge of Fabry Disease is not required as in-depth support and training will be provided.  Regular supervision and a supportive work culture will help you to expand your knowledge and become an expert in the work you are undertaking.

• Eligibility to work in the UK
• A valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points, access to a car and a willingness to drive UK wide

This post is primarily based in our Amersham office however UK wide travel is necessary. A flexible approach to working hours to cover travel, our out of hours phone service, and events and conference attendance is required.

Job Purpose

• Efficiently and effectively maintain the donor database

Deliverables 

Provide first-class supporter care to Animal Free Research UK’s supporters

• Be the first point of contact for supporter enquiries and comments across all communications channels, including social media, and provide an exceptional supporter care service
• Ensure that all supporter communications are responded to, and gifts are thanked, within agreed internal service level agreements and according to policies and procedures
• Draft and maintain a suite of approved on-brand standard supporter care responses
• Maintain an up-to-date library of standard operating procedures for supporter care processes

Efficiently and effectively maintain the donor database

• Ensure a complete, accurate, and timely record of all donor, supporter and advocate communication and gift activity in the donor and advocacy CRM databases
• Liaise with the Finance team to ensure gifts are appropriately coded and any issues related to gifts are promptly addressed
• Process cheque, card, cash and CAF donations received through offline channels
• Ensure Gift Aid is claimed and validated against Gift Aid declarations
• Proactively ensure the integrity of the CRM is maintained to a suitably high standard
• Work with colleagues to understand their requirements and perform the selection and segmentation of data for appeals, communications and reporting
• Work with colleagues to continually improve the quality, accuracy, and usability of the donor and advocacy databases

Provide assistance to the Development team

• Assist with the production of the quarterly supporter newsletter; making data selections, writing/proofing copy, and liaising with suppliers
• Steward the charity’s cohort of community fundraising ambassadors and challenge event participants, supporting them to achieve their fundraising targets
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the fundraising and marketing strategies, and the development of new products and campaigns
• Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required
