Your Role

As our Assistant Director of Supporter Engagement, you'll be an integral part of our External Engagement team, reporting to our Executive Director. Your days will be filled with strategic challenges and opportunities as you lead and manage our supporter engagement activities. From developing fundraising strategies, to overseeing our diverse portfolio of fundraising products, your leadership will drive sustainable growth in voluntary income and support.

Community Fundraiser

About the role

Reporting to the CEO and managing a talented team of 2 HR Business Partners and 1 HR & Recruitment Administrator you will:

• Develop and implement HR strategies, processes and services aligned with our overall strategy and vision
• Develop Staff Wellbeing strategy and oversee the Staff Wellbeing Action Group
• Lead the HR function and team and be a pro-active member of the Senior Management Team
• Ensure high quality delivery of HR responsibilities including policies and processes, HRIS, resourcing, reward, employee services, management development, employee relations and learning
• Be the appointed competent person to advise on Health & Safety across the organisation, this includes ongoing monitoring via KPI’s and internal audits and leading the Health & Safety committee meetings
• Support and continue to develop the Employee Forum, including being a point of contact for the Union
• Embed a co-productive approach with partners, managers and leaders to achieve strategy and targets
• Monitor and provide insight and guidance on the effectiveness of people management practices and processes via a range of KPIs
• Support change initiatives and programmes
• Be an influential and visible figure in the business driving improvements forward in relation to people and culture
• Budget management and oversight
• Ensure HR compliance and risk management for employee relations issues and ensuring the organisation remains up to date with relevant legislation

About you

• Previous experience across most HR disciplines such as recruitment and retention, wellbeing, learning and development, and HR administration as well as navigating complex HR issues

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively
• Strong relationship building skills at a senior level internally and externally and able to nurture partnerships and collaborative relationships with a range of organisations and stakeholders
• Ability to lead change projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and successful implementation
• Proficient in identifying and mitigating risks associated with change initiatives

We support autistic people, people with a disability, and people and families experiencing barriers to live healthier, happier, and inclusive lives. Advocacy 1st is a free, independent service provided by advocates who specialise in the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and the Mental Health Act.

Key duties:

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, professional and skilled Helpline Support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.

The 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line is a partnership between Rape Crisis England and Wales, the Rape and Sexual Abuse support Centre (RASASC - Rape Crisis South London) and two other Rape Crisis Centres (ARCH Teesside and Lincolnshire Rape Crisis). The post-holder for this role is employed by RASASC (Rape Crisis South London).

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and chats. Helpline Support Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Helpline Support workers have experience of either providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will also need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence. 

Development / Fundraising Assistant
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, with flexibility to increase to 37 hours per week. (Some evening and weekend work required in line with fundraising events).
Salary: £24,031 - £25,863 per annum FTE (£19,484.59 - £20,970 pro rata for 30 hours per week) dependant on skills, experience and knowledge

The role​

As an Executive Assistant in the newly formed Business Support Team, you’ll be highly organised and a great communicator. You’ll be responsible for providing highly efficient and effective support across all administrative and organisational activities. Working in a fast-paced responsive team you will be one of the first points of contact for the Executive Leadership Team and will assist with administration and organisation of diaries for meetings and travel arrangements, preparing briefs and drafting various communications where appropriate. You’ll attend key meetings in a supporting role and ensure efficiency and timely support to the Leadership team.

​You’ll also assist with front-line reception administration services in the Ewell, Epsom Office as required.​

These roles wield direct influence over the realisation of core strategic objectives, as well as the smooth functioning of day-to-day business operations. The newly formed Business Support team will not only cater to the needs of Executive Leadership Team and departmental/staff administration but also plays a pivotal role in supporting the broader organisational ambitions through services such as record retention/retrieval, telephony, postal/courier management, cash handling and more.

The terms

Samaritans are looking for two Executive Assistants to join the team - details below;

• 12 month Fixed term contract
• Full time - 35 hours per week. Part time - 20 hours per week preferably worked over 4 days
• £33,000 - £35,000 per annum (£18,857 - £20,000 per annum for 20 hours/week)

Skills and Experience:​

• Ability to produce clear documentation to be used by staff, volunteers, senior management.
• Knowledge of office administrational functions, facilities soft services (cleaning, telephony related services).
• Excellent organisational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Good IT skills including use of MS office, particularly MS Word and Excel
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and maintain a positive and professional approach.

• A high level of integrity, with experience of keeping sensitive information confidential.

Community Connector Workers x4
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Salary: £25,000 - £27,444 Per Annum Pro Rata (dependant on skills, knowledge and experience)

NHS England have awarded funding for NHS, Local Authorities, and the voluntary sector to increase their capacity for joint working to meet multiple needs of communities.

Working in partnership across Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, you will support the testing of new and integrated models of primary and community mental health care.

Community Connectors will support patients to access a wide range of community services and resources including social care, housing, family, debt and employment counselling that support maintaining good health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work jointly with the Mental Health Practitioner in conducting assessments, including risk assessment
• Work with patients to support them in identifying their socially determined needs and goals, provide self- management tools and facilitate the development of personal support plans
• Provide a range of motivational and structured psycho-social interventions
• Promote independence through an enabling asset-based approach that draws on individuals’ strengths, preferences and ‘natural’ support networks
• Assist with community resource mapping exercises and maintain a database of community resources; map where there are gaps in provision across the PCN and wider geography and work with other VCS organisations to develop resources where most needed
• Promote and support (where necessary) advised follow up actions from physical health checks for people with SMI
• Work with the service to identify opportunities to expand provision particularly in local communities where there is a lack of service provision identified
• Broker and establish new partnerships between public and voluntary sector agencies to enhance service delivery and access to services
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with service users, partner agencies and appropriate external agencies

• An understanding of good practice in safeguarding Adults
• Experience of working within mental health, wellbeing or similar environments
• Experience of working in a demanding environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
• Experience of working with individuals, enabling them to identify their own goals to support personal wellbeing and recovery, and helping them to pursue these

• Ability to travel to different sites daily to deliver face-to-face sessions across the Berkshire region.

About the role

This role sits within our Telephone and Referral Centre (TARC) team. A key part of the role is to make sure patients can access the support they need.

As a Patient Contact Officer, some of your key duties will include booking appointments via our patient database system within contractual targets, answering the main phone, and monitoring messages for risk. Alongside this, you will have a range of other administrative duties.

You’ll be expected to work a minimum of two days per week in the office.

About you 

This position is ideal for someone who has experience in a busy office environment with admin responsibilities. You’ll need to be highly organised and able to work well under pressure as we are a large and extremely busy service.

It’s important that you can work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy when using patient database systems. You’ll also need a professional telephone manner and the ability to manage difficult situations with tact and empathy.

Mind in Brighton and Hove empowers and supports people who have experience of mental health issues in Brighton and Hove and West Sussex. We are a Local Mind Affiliated to National Mind.

We are seeking to appoint a Mental Health Advice Worker for our busy and established service in Brighton and Hove. The role plays an essential part of our response to those people contacting us with their mental health enquiries and concerns.

You will responsible for offering a range of face to face and telephone mental health advice and information to people living in the city, including carers and family members who have contacted us with a mental health concern. The service also delivers awareness raising wellbeing workshops and community outreach as part of its delivery.

The role involves supporting people to identify strategies for looking after their own mental health wellbeing along with providing self-help information and resources.

You will require excellent communication skills, a track record of undertaking advice work and experience of successfully engaging and working with people with lived mental health experience. A commitment and understanding of the recovery model is essential.
