Main Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the Trust’s fundraising, overseeing development of prospect pipelines and growing income year on year from membership, major donors, individual giving, legacies, corporate partnerships, grants and charitable trusts, ensuring that the Trust achieves its restricted and unrestricted income targets
• Inspire funding support for the Trust’s work through relationship-based fundraising with major donors, corporates and grant-making bodies
• Enable delivery colleagues to secure funding for their work, supporting the development of fundable projects and high quality bids and securing continuation funding
• Stimulate growth in individual giving from members and non-members through the development and implementation of an ambitious plan incorporating supporter development, recruitment and retention.
• Ensure fundraising systems are working effectively and all activity is compliant with the Trust’s policies, fundraising guidelines from regulators, and all relevant legislation, including Data Protection and Health and Safety.
• Manage an integrated functional team across fundraising, contribute to the direction and development of the Trust as a member of the leadership team and undertake other duties in line with the role as requested

A medium sized health education charity is seeking a Finance Officer on a full-time, permanent basis.
The organisation is an established charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of veganism. Services range from general advice on vegan lifestyle – diet, travel, shopping etc, campaigning activities, additional services to charity members, and the certification and labelling of products based on their internationally recognised Vegan Trademark.
The organisation has around 65 staff with a turnover of around £4 million annually. Their central offices are in Birmingham, however this role can be taken on almost exclusively remotely – it is anticipated that there will be approximately 6 journeys per year required either to the Birmingham office or another mutually agreeable location – for staff events and meetings.
The role sits within a small finance team of 3, and will be highly varied covering most aspects of transactional finance. The starting salary is between £29,413 - £31,508, however they have regular salary reviews and growth in the role is possible. They also have an excellent benefits package including a pension scheme, employee assistance programme, 28 days leave + bank holidays, plus additional leave available as part of a sustainable transportation climate perks policy.
The ideal candidate will be AAT part-qualified with experience in a similar Finance Officer level role. Exposure to double-entry bookkeeping and an understanding of charity finance would be an advantage. Experience with Sage accounting is also useful. The organisation is a flexible employer and although the role is ultimately permanent they welcome applicants wishing to be considered on a part-time basis as part of a job share, and will also consider candidates on a shorter term fixed term contract basis if this is preferable to a permanent contract initially.
Please note, it is expected that staff adhere to a vegan lifestyle as much as possible.
Typical duties will include:
-Work closely with the sales team and raise invoices in accordance with the sales process.
-Support the credit control function and chase outstanding payments for renewals and new business.
-Provide up-to-date debtor ledger reports as required.
-Process invoices and expenses for payment ensuring adherence to internal purchase policies and procedures.
-Provide support and guidance to staff members and chase outstanding documentation to ensure correct processes are always followed.
-On a weekly basis, process supplier payments and staff expenses online ready for authorisation.
-Support the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, merchant platforms and aggregators.
-Maintain responsibility of designated balance sheet codes and assist with the preparation of month-end reporting.
-Ensure balance sheets are kept up to date in readiness for year-end and annual audit.
-Work closely with the Finance Manager and support the Auditor during the annual financial audit.
-Assist with the development of financial policies, streamline processes, production of working instructions and training materials.
-Support the development of financial business critical systems and processes to increase efficiency and improve user journeys.
-Investigate, report and where necessary make improvements to minimise non-compliance to ensure robust policies and procedures.
-Support the Finance Manager and make suggestions for continuous improvement of systems and processes to support business requirements.
-Support the management of the finance mailboxes and respond to emails in a timely manner.
-Act as the first point of contact and provide timely responses to internal and external stakeholders, customers and suppliers by email and over the telephone.
Candidate requirements:
-AAT part or fully-qualified
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment.
-Good working knowledge of day-to-day transactional finance, including all aspects of purchase and sales ledger, credit control, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation and journal entries.
-A working knowledge of VAT.
-Excellent customer service skills.
-Experience of using accounting software – Sage Cloud /Sage Intact desirable
-Knowledge and experience of working with databases and CRM systems.
-An understanding of charity finance is desirable but not essential

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:
- Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.
- Help participants to connect with nature and socialise with others to feel happier, less anxious and less isolated.
- Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
- Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
- Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.
The role
The roles has four main areas of work:
1. Leadership and management:
- Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals.
- Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
- Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
- Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.
2. Project management:
- Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
- Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders.
- Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
- Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
- Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed.
- Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
- Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact.
3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green:
- Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project.
- Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
- Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed.
4. Other:
- Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required.
- Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.

ROLE SUMMARY
The Global Grants and Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the Grants Programme of ProVeg International and leading the activities and staff within the ProVeg International Grants team. You will ensure the global grantmaking of ProVeg International aligns with its mission and goals, while also engaging with key players in the global plant-based movement, and raising funds for the Grants programme and other movement-building activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Grants Programme :

Team-lead for ProVeg Grants team, including direct line management of Grants Programme Manager.
-
Oversee quarterly grantmaking process, including reviewing and evaluating proposals, and providing recommendations aligned with ProVeg International’s grantmaking criteria.

Ensure that all grantmaking is aligned and approved by all decision makers, including CEO, funder network, and Board Members.
-
Oversee the team to ensure that all grants admin is fulfilled, including due diligence, and payment processing aligned with US regulations; accurately tracked grant records; queries are responded to timely, etc.
-
Oversee and optimise grantmaking process infrastructure, and regularly implement improvements as needed.

Oversee and optimise further capacity building initiatives developed for global grantee network
Stakeholder Engagement:
-
Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, donors, and other sources aligned with ProVeg's mission.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop engagement strategies for stakeholders including donors, grantees, and supporters.

Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential donors, foundations, and funding organisations to cultivate support for ProVeg's programmes and initiatives.
-
Represent ProVeg at meetings, conferences, and events to promote our mission and establish strategic partnerships.

Develop and oversee strategies to engage with individuals and organisations through digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and virtual events.
Strategic Development:

Continue to develop the Strategy of ProVeg Grants Programme in alignment with ProVeg International’s global strategy and the wider plant-based advocacy/food system transformation movement.

Ensure alignment, communication and collaboration across ProVeg International’s wider network and global initiatives.
Monitoring and Reporting:

Track and evaluate grant programme’s performance against established goals and objectives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, highlighting project achievements, impact, and financial accountability.

Monitor Grants Programme budgets, expenditures, and timelines to ensure effective utilisation of funds and compliance with funder requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in grantmaking and donor relations in the nonprofit sector is a must.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, international development, communications, or related field). Master's degree preferred.

Highly organised and able to translate complex ideas into tangible and actionable tasks.

Proven track record of successfully securing grants from diverse funding sources.
-
Strong communication skills, including exceptional writing and editing abilities.
-
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Experience working with databases and grant management software (HubSpot).

Travel once per quarter for 4-5 days per trip will be likely.
