Salary: £24,313 - £27,709 per annum, dependent on ISVA qualification and experience

Location: Thurrock and outreach across West Essex including Harlow and Epping
Hours: 37.5 hours 
Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2023

SERICC is an innovative, exciting, grassroots charity working across South and West Essex.

You will be joining a team of committed and inspiring individuals. We are looking for a new committed and diligent woman to join our service and support victims and survivors.

SERICC is part of the Synergy Essex Rape Crisis Partnership, comprising of South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre (SERICC), Southend Rape Crisis Centres (SOSRC) and Mid & North Essex Centre for Action on Rape and Abuse (CARA).  We are three independent dedicated specialist sexual violence organisations, providing services across the whole of Essex, working with anyone who has experienced sexual violence at any time of their life. 


About the Role
We are seeking an Independent Sexual Violence Adviser to provide specialist support including - information and support through the criminal justice system, to any adult who is a survivor of sexual violence.  The role is a full-time post that will include working and traveling to the Essex areas of Harlow and Epping.  Flexibility of working hours and ability to travel is essential.

 

You will provide high quality case work support, advocacy and information services primarily to adults. You will work with victims and survivors to agree Safety and Support Plans, and work as part of an ISVA team.

About You
Ideal candidates will have experience of working with adults in a range of settings, and of working in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary sector practitioners including the police and health practitioners.

 

Candidates should hold an ISVA qualification.  If you don’t hold an ISVA qualification, please tell us through your application of your experience.  Qualities we are looking for may be demonstrated through skills and experiences in paid or unpaid work.

 

You will have a good understanding of the causes and dynamics of rape and sexual abuse, including its impact on victims/survivors. A flexible approach to your work and a commitment to the values of Rape Crisis is essential.
