SDCAS is an established local charity providing holistic services to help relieve poverty and distress for asylum seekers and refugees, and where safeguarding issues are a significant part of our support work.
We seek to appoint a Safeguarding Development Worker to improve our practices in this area.
This is an important role to help develop a better understanding of what safeguarding solutions should look like for this client group and will include:
- Acting as a point of contact for internal safeguarding enquiries and referrals;
- Strengthening our policies and procedures to help identify risk, reduce crisis and eliminate harm;
- Building and cultivating connections with other agencies in order to help protect asylum seekers/refugees.
Knowledge of safeguarding best practice and refugee issues; a focused manner; good communication and organisational skills are required. Collaborative working abilities are essential.
