Are you looking for an opportunity to use your excellent communication skills to improve the lives of vulnerable people in London? We’re looking for an outstanding Communications Manager to lead and develop the communications function of a SW London homelessness charity - SPEAR.
You will join SPEAR’s Fundraising and Communications department at an exciting time. For the last few years, the communications at SPEAR has been taken on by the fundraising team. However, with the demand on our front line services ever increasing, this new role within SPEAR gives you the opportunity to really transform and shape communications, whilst also developing a communications strategy in partnership with fundraising, senior management and consultants.

SPEAR is a charity with a longstanding reputation that has been transforming lives of those experiencing homelessness for over 32 years. SPEAR’s services are in five boroughs; Richmond, Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth and Kingston.
Around 100 staff now work at SPEAR and in a staff survey, staff said that one of the main reasons people enjoy their job is because of the people they work with. We are a friendly and inclusive charity, with a committed Senior Management team and Board of Trustees.
Location of work
You will be based in our 9 Briar Road, Twickenham, Head Office alongside SPEAR’s Head office team including fundraising, finance and HR. But due to the nature of the role you will be encouraged to visit other frontline offices across the five boroughs (one of those also being in Twickenham) to broaden your network and understanding of the charity. Home working will also be permitted.
