Job description

Spectra, with the Trans Learning Partnership (TLP), have an exciting opportunity for a TPoC Project Coordinator to join our dynamic partnership team (home or office working).

The TLP is a unique partnership of 4 community members, 2 academics at the University of Nottingham and Goldsmiths University, University of London; and 4 trans service organisations – Spectra, Gendered Intelligence, LGBT Foundation, Mermaids.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about TPoC networks and groups, and community-based service organisations. You will have the credibility and connections to engage with key groups. You will be prepared to help empower communities to develop new skills as well as understand and access their rights.

You will have extensive lived experience of community networks for trans people experiencing racial inequalities. You will be passionate about equalities, committed to working in an inclusive, collaborative and participatory style. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Through collaboration with community groups and colleagues within the TLP, you will gather data related to the intersectional lives of trans people experiencing racial inequalities, including accounts of racism and transphobia as well as routes to building power. You will identify information that needs visualising, myths that need dispelling, and strengths that need highlighting, so that services can better respond to these articulated needs.

We value the importance of representation and diversity and actively encourage applications from eligible TPoC candidates.

Please read the job description and use the application form on Spectra's website to apply.

Please complete the application form, including the personal statement and diversity monitoring form by Noon, 1st October 2021*. We do not accept CVs or incomplete applications.

*This is an active recruitment. Spectra will review applications as we receive them and will interview candidates that match our requirements, appointing before the closing date if they are successful. Do not therefore wait to submit your application form until the closing date, but submit as early as possible.
