Job description

Care Team Leader

St Elizabeth’s Centre is a specialist Centre providing holistic care together with learning, leisure and other opportunities for adults and children with severe epilepsy, learning difficulties and complex health needs.

Our Health Agency provides a range of Learning Disability, Epilepsy Specialist Nurses, Mental Health and Paediatric nursing alongside therapy to support our residents. We also work in partnership with GP’s, Psychiatrists, and lead Neurologists from both Great Ormond Street and the National Hospital for Epilepsy. Established since 1903, we have a proven track record in providing specialist health support and are committed to promoting the service as a centre of excellence.

Position: Shift Leader
Location: St Elizabeth`s Centre, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire
Job type: 37.5 hours per week. This will include one weekend every 4 weeks and one late shift per week
Salary: £20,435 per annum

About the Role:

Working in the Children’s Home you will be assigned to one of our bungalows and will be one of three shift leaders expected to take the lead responsibility for each shift. This is a busy role where you’ll be leading the staff team on identified shifts and making sure shifts are planned and led in an organised manner. You’ll have responsibility as a key worker and demonstrate good care principles which you’ll reflect in everyday work practises and encourage in colleagues.

About You:

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills who is able to lead, motivate and work as part of a team. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience of providing care and support to young people with additional needs in a residential setting. You’ll need to have already achieved or be currently undertaking a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent and be committed to completing this within one year of appointment if not already achieved.

You may have experience of the following: Shift Team Leader, Care Team Leader, Senior Carer, Deputy Care Home Manager, Deputy Manager, Deputy Residential Home Manager, Nurse, Nursing, Registered Nurse, Charity, Not for Profit, etc.
