Established in 1903, St Elizabeth’s is a national charity that looks after approximately 175 adults, children and young people with epilepsy and other complex medical conditions based on a 68 acre site in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire. It comprises a school, a further educational college, an adult care home and associated supported living services and Children’s Home.

Hours: 37.5 hour per week
Salary: Circa £50,000

About the role:
At a time of exciting significant change in both education and care, St Elizabeth’s is looking for a Head of Facilities who combines strong technical skills with broad management experience to manage and develop the charity’s extensive property and estate in line with the needs of its clients, regulatory requirements and the interests of the wider organisation.
This role oversees the management of the day to day operations of the charity’s maintenance, estates and domestic services departments. The Head of Facilities also has a wider strategic role in helping deliver a property strategy to enable the charity to respond to the changing needs of its clients and provide the highest quality service. The post holder will lead on issues including security and health and safety and play a critical role on matters such as procurement and environmental sustainability.
We are looking for someone with a professional qualification in Building or Facilities Management or a related qualification in Engineering, Construction or Surveying. You will have strong knowledge of property related legislation and an excellent understanding of relevant health and safety legislation. You will successfully manage a busy site, balancing construction projects and contractors with the smooth running of catering, cleaning and domestic services. Your proficiency in IT and helpdesk systems will ensure the facilities team are deployed effectively.
