About the role
Ashvale, our exciting horticultural project set over two acres of land in Much Hadham, is seeking a Project Assistant. This rewarding and creative role, will see you support our learners by accessing therapy through growing and harvesting vegetables and plants, craftwork, alongside feeding our chickens and collecting eggs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high standards of plant hygiene, preparation of vegetable beds and daily site maintenance whilst supporting clients to thrive in an outdoor environment. Maintenance includes watering, weeding, checking stock and rotation as well as completing soil association records.
This role will see you work closely with people with learning disabilities and epilepsy enabling them to create an array of items for sale to help raise vital funds for St Elizabeth’s. You may also be required to provide personal care to our residents and learners from time to time.
About you
This role offers a unique opportunity to bring your creative skills and enthusiasm to St. Elizabeth’s. You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills as you will be working as part of a small and friendly team. Experience and a keen interest in Horticulture in a similar role is preferred, but a willingness to roll your sleeves up and get involved, combined with a genuine interest in the people that we support is essential.
