About the role

Our Children’s Home is entering an exciting period of change as we move towards opening 8 discrete Children’s Homes. We are seeking to appoint Deputy Managers to support our Registered Managers and Head of Residential Child Care Services in running an established vibrant and nurturing service for our children and young people.

About You

You will work with a Registered Manager to manage a designated bungalow and staff team. Each of our bungalows are home to a maximum of 8 children. This role will be busy and varied; you’ll take the operational lead for all safeguarding matters, ensuring that all staff are effectively trained and supervised and that all aspects of the children’s care runs smoothly. You will operate alongside Registered Managers and our Head of Residential Child Care Services to ensure a safe and professional environment for our staff, children and young people.

You’ll be working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams across the Centre, liaising with residents, families and external agencies so well developed interpersonal skills are essential. We’re looking for someone who has relevant experience of working with learning disabilities in either a care or educational setting. You will also have experience of leading, developing and mentoring teams. Ideally you’ll hold your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent with a willingness to enrol and complete Level 5 Diploma in Residential Child Care within 2 years.
