St Gemma’s Hospice is one of the leading hospices in the UK.  The Hospice provides expert palliative and end of life care, in a quality environment, for thousands of local people each year.  It’s a prominent and respected charity at the heart of the local community with a large range of specialist services to support patients, their families and friends.

This year the Income Generation team at St Gemma’s has an ambitious fundraising target of more than £6.9 million to help support these services. You will join a fun and vibrant team of talented individuals, with a passion for the work of the Hospice and for delivering an exceptional supporter experience.

The Senior Fundraiser (In Memory and Legacies) is responsible for nurturing relationships with our in memory supporters as well as promoting our in memory and legacy appeals and initiatives to a wide range of audiences.

We are looking for a special, donor-centred individual with the following key attributes:

  • Great people skills
  • Passionately cause driven
  • Creative, adaptable and agile
  • Able to listen and respond to donors’ needs

You will be meeting and speaking with bereaved people on a daily basis so having strong communication skills and the ability to listen and respond sensitively to bereaved supporters is essential.

The role will also manage our in memory appeals and initiatives therefore the successful candidate will need to be highly organised with strong IT skills and should have experience of creating effective marketing materials as well as experience of managing projects and events.
