If so, St Giles Trust is looking for a driven Caseworker to work on a vital new project that aims to support Southwark’s unemployed residents into work through a personalised pathway of motivation, addressing wider barriers, employment support and gaining the skills and competencies to secure sustainable employment.

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.
Delivered as part of the Southwark Works’ network of projects aiming to support Southwark’s unemployed residents into work, this project will engage both unemployed and underemployed residents with a history of substance use. The project will provide one-to-one support to enable clients to access employment, apprenticeship, training and work placement opportunities in line with their aspirations and goals.
About this exciting opportunity
You will focus on providing an on-going caseload of clients with a personalised service that supports and engages them to secure and sustain appropriate employment, apprenticeship, further training or work placements. After conducting comprehensive initial assessments, you will produce realistic individual action plans which are regularly reviewed and updated, as well as organising and delivering one-to-one and group activities to prepare clients for employment and to achieve their goals.
You will also develop links with employers, training providers and potential work placement hosts and support clients to take up opportunities, while building effective partnerships with local drug and alcohol services to support clients to sustain their recovery journey and providing day-to-day support to Peer Advisors attached to the project are also key duties.
