About the Role
As part of the Finance and Corporate Services directorate, our IT team supports all critical St John activities which at their core include life-saving first aid to get the best out of technology.
As Applications and Data Manager, you will ensure that our critical applications support St John’s strategic aims through their continual improvement by effectively managing all build work. You will lead and manage a team of Developers and Analysts operating to contemporary processes such as Agile to build and deliver releases. These incorporate fixes to bugs, enhancements and the delivery of enterprise scale project work.
You will contribute to the rationalism and prioritisation of demand leading regular scoping and refinement sessions.
You will also play a key role in the run and operation of applications through the management of technical support and maintenance work.

You will have experience of leading technical development and support teams in a large organisation with a proven track record of managing the build and run of complex technical environments on a full Microsoft stack. You will be highly technical, but also comfortable in supporting a broad range of stakeholder groups and dealing effectively with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will have and will be highly effective at influencing and building relationships at all levels.
You will be a technical leader bringing energy, drive and commitment to the role to develop and drive the organisations Application and Data team forward.
St John Ambulance works at the heart of communities, providing first aid, keeping people safe at events and working alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls. Much of our front-line delivery is provided by our dedicated and highly-trained volunteers.
