Bury Saint Edmunds, Suffolk
Voluntary
Job description

As a First Aider at Events, you’ll help St John Ambulance provide first aid at large and small events within the community. You’ll be part of a team of volunteers delivering help where it’s needed, dealing with everything from a sprained ankle to a cardiac arrest.

We are looking for First Aid volunteers to join us across Suffolk. First aid is such a simple skill, but it has an incredible impact. We want everyone to learn it, so that they can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.

We have an opportunity available in your area for a First Aider: help us to keep the community safe while they work, rest and play by volunteering as a first aider at events.
We will make sure you will have access to an induction to volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role you take on. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you are volunteering with us. Information about the First Aider role is included in the role description.

What you can expect from SJA, and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, is included in the volunteer charter. When applying for this role you agree to attend all dates listed in this advert.

Following the submission of your application and prior to the closing date of this advert you will be contacted to arrange an on-line interview.

Following this you will complete an on-line Welcome and Induction package prior to attending the four day Operational First Aider training.

The training for this role is an Operational First Aider course running on the 19th, 20th, 26th and 27th September. The course is being held at St John Ambulance, Nightingale Close, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3SY.

CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND ALL OF THE PUBLISHED DATES. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND THESE DATES YOUR APPLICATION MAY BE REJECTED.

Closing dates for the role is 30th August 2020.
