About the Role

It’s an exciting time to join St John. We have a newly formed team in the Governance Directorate and are recruiting for an Information Governance & Policy Officer, to report to the Head of Risk & Policy and work closely with the Data Protection Officer. The Officer will support the organisation to understand and comply with the requirements of the information governance framework and policy framework.

The organisation has recently established a Data Protection Champion Network, consisting of employees and volunteers who are passionate about data protection, providing a great resource for the Information Governance & Policy Officer to champion this area of work. St John will support and develop the post holder, with a view to the Officer progressing to the role of St John’s Data Protection Officer in the future and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.

St John has introduced a new policy framework and the Information Governance & Policy Officer will be instrumental in embedding this into the organisation, helping to ensure our policies are fit-for-purpose and effectively communicated.

About You

To be successful in the role of Information Governance & Policy Officer, you should have a good understanding of policy and information governance frameworks and a willingness to develop your skills in these areas. You will be a good communicator who is able to understand complex information and develop effective materials to convey this to your colleagues. You will be well organised and be able to work on your own initiative. You must be comfortable analysing information and producing status reports, and monitoring compliance against quality standards.
