About the Role

We are looking for a Logistics Operative to join our friendly, fast-paced Logistics team at St John Ambulance. Based at our Ossett office, the role is available on a full-time basis working 8:00am to 4:00pm and is available for an immediate start. Excellent attention to detail and a Full UK Driving Licence are essential for this role and, due to the nature of the organisation, the ideal candidate will have the ability to work flexibly.

Supporting our medicine supply function, this is a varied and exciting role in which you will play an important part in the overall day-to-day activity carried out by the Logistics function and work in partnership with a diverse group of volunteers and employees. As a Logistics Operative you will be responsible for the recovery, assessment, recording, picking & packing, storing, dispatching and transportation of St John Ambulance assets and consumables, in line with processes and policies. You will also support the process of disposing of unserviceable items in a safe and legal manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the building of medicine packs for first aid services, ambulance operations and community projects
  • Use of computerised systems and national processes to control stock levels and ensure items are dispatched in a timely manner
  • Ensuring that the medicine store is appropriately stocked and cleaned and all necessary records are accurate and up-to-date
  • Support employees and volunteers nationally to facilitate service delivery and safe working practice
  • Assist in the reporting of statistics and compliance as required

About You

To be successful in this role you will have excellent attention to detail and have experience of working within a team, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative. Ideally you will have experience of working in a logistics environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve. You will also understand the importance of excellent customer service and working with service level targets.
