St John Ambulance, the volunteer-led health and first aid charity which responds to emergencies and supports and saves lives, is seeking a Head of Supporter Acquisition and Engagement to help deliver big ambitions to grow income and engagement.
St John Ambulance is a significant and complex charity, turning over £100m annually with social enterprise income streams from commercial first aid training, ambulance and other NHS support, and event cover as well as other sources of income in addition to fundraising.
This role will involve leading the organisation’s largest fundraising income streams and the implementation of audience-focused fundraising campaigns that deliver long-term sustainable income and mutually beneficial relationships with supporters.
It will include collaborating across St John to support the implementation of a developing experience strategy which highlights the wide range of opportunities to deepen relationships with the public and those already connected to St John, whether as a delegate of a First Aid course, a parent of one of the charity’s badgers and cadets units or a volunteer who is giving up their time to help.
The charity is seeking candidates with a strong background in using a data-led approach to fundraising and planning to help them prioritise which exciting new opportunity to test first.
You will have extensive experience of achieving or exceeding income targets of over £5milliion through managing fundraising programmes including individual giving, digital fundraising and legacy programmes in the voluntary sector. You will have led, inspired and motivated large multifaceted teams and you will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a compassionate and emotionally intelligent leadership style.
