St Laurence Centre is a thriving community hub that has been at the heart of Catford, S.E. London, since 1968. We are looking for a competent manager who will get to know the local community and encourage groups to develop and thrive, as well being responsible for the good running of the Centre. The role entails overseeing every aspect, human and material, of a building that plays an important role in creating and safeguarding the social fabric of this part of south-east London.
The Centre shares a building with a remarkable, Grade-II listed 1968 church, and there will also be some administrative work for the parish.
This will be a great role for someone who would likely really to make a difference to the life of a unique London neighbourhood.
The key responsibilities are outlined in the information pack. In summary, we require an experienced manager able to manage the caretaking staff and volunteers, someone who is financially competent, aware of relevant policies, procedures and risk assessments; a team leader able to evolve a vision for the future, as well as being able to respect matters of confidentiality, sensitivity and compassion. There is no requirement for any particular religious belief or practice, although the manager will be expected to respect those of the very diverse parish that supports the work of the Centre.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
