Part-time 30 hours a week
£22,785 - £32,029 per annum (30 hours pro rata)
South East (Brighton, Oxford and Reading)
At St Mungo’s, our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions. As a homelessness charity and housing association, our clients are at the heart of what we do. We provide a bed and support to more than 2,800 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and work to end homelessness and rebuild lives.
Working as part of the overall Communications team, the South East Communications Coordinator (South East) will take a lead role on raising St Mungo’s profile in the South East of England to support awareness of our service impact, our campaigns and our fundraising initiatives and to help achieve organisational growth in line with our ambition to end homelessness and rebuild lives.
The successful candidate will initiate and coordinate impactful media coverage regionally and work alongside colleagues in the Press and PR, Marketing and Internal Comms teams on national coverage. This role will mirror a South West Communications Coordinator role which has a similar brief for the Bristol, Bath and Bournemouth areas.
The role will also help coordinate marketing communications and support for St Mungo’s services, including social media, and be a focal point for internal communications in the South East, promoting the organisation’s values and recovery ethos with clients and staff, which will particularly focus on our services in Brighton, Oxford and Reading.
The successful candidate will be a clear and confident communicator. You will have demonstrable experience of implementing and delivering press and PR, marketing plans, and building positive relationships with colleagues and partners to raise awareness and understanding about our work. You will also have good time management skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied work programme, working from a variety of locations and on your own initiative.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities in support of their personal and professional development.
We envisage this post being based 2 days a week in one of our services in the South East with flexible/home working and travel to and within the South East region as required.
Closing date: 10:00am, Tuesday 22 October 2019
Interviews and assessments: w/c 4 November 2019
Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo’s current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
