About the role

We have a variety of night working roles available. In all roles you will provide overnight waking cover for the service.

 

As a Night Concierge you will be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding our clients at night including dealing with emergencies. Other duties include carrying out regular health and safety checks, on patrol and through monitoring the CCTV system and various administration tasks. There is also an element of the role which will be ensuring the environment is kept to a high standard.

 

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Night Worker role includes providing overnight support to clients, and assessing referrals to the service including accepting clients into the service over night. 

 

What we’re looking for

If you have an interest in pursuing a career in support work, these roles will give you the chance to receive on the job training and experience of working within a supported housing environment. We will also give you the opportunity to undertake shadow day or paid day shifts, as they become available; thereby gaining valuable experience to further your career.

 

The ideal candidates will have good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable people. A good level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your own initiative are also required.

 

Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.

St Mungo’s contribute 4% of your gross annual salary, and you are able to enrol in the Defined Contribution scheme following a successful probationary period in which the employer contribution is 6%.
