Fixed term contract until March 2021, however there is a possibility this may become a permanent role
At St Mungo's our ambition is to end homelessness and we are working hard to reverse the increase in people sleeping rough in England. In the areas where we work, we aim to halve the number of people sleeping rough by 2021.
We are currently looking for an Outreach Coordinator to join our Outreach service in Oxford City. The Oxford SPOT work across Oxford delivering shifts on the streets, drop-ins at local day centres, and working with accommodation providers and the local authority, to reduce rough sleeping to as close to zero as possible.
Alongside the Outreach Manager, you will be involved in managing a team of Outreach Workers, liaising with key services – including police and the local authorities and services throughout the city, UK and Europe. The role will also involve working on housing, health, treatment and immigration issues with some of Oxford’s most vulnerable individuals
To succeed, you will have demonstrable experience of engaging and assessing clients on the streets and other devolved locations and of delivering a case management approach with homeless people and clients who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed.
A good working knowledge of the housing, health and social services legislation and services for vulnerable people is also required. As is the ability to initiate and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, communities and external stakeholders and agencies.
If you think you fit the brief and can see yourself helping us to achieve this aim, then please apply. We are also holding an Open Evening to give you an opportunity to learn more about us, our staff and the different roles on offer, as well as ask us questions.
Flexibility is required as you will be working shift rota hours, including working early mornings, late nights and at weekends
