Contract, Full-time
Job description

Fixed term contract until March 2021, however there is a possibility this may become a permanent role

At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

For this post, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic street outreach team in Oxford.  We work across the city delivering shifts on the streets, drop-ins in local day centres, and work with accommodation providers and the local authority to reduce rough sleeping.

As an Outreach Worker you will be involved in making contact with all rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness; assessing their needs and delivering personalised case management to support them to make the move away from the streets and/or street lifestyles for good. This will involve liaising with key services throughout the UK and Europe.

To be successful, you will have experience of working with vulnerable adults in a social care, health, community safety or housing setting.  You will also have experience of multi-disciplinary agency working and the necessary social skills to initiate and maintain constructive and appropriate relations with clients and agencies. The ability to drive a car and hold a clean driving license is also essential.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development

Flexibility is required as you will be working shift rota hours, including working early mornings, late nights and at weekends
