We’re looking to recruit an Outreach Worker to join the Tower Hamlets Street Outreach Response Team (SORT).
You will be responsible for completing assessments with rough sleepers to more fully understand their support needs. You will link the individual into the right support services and enable them to move into permanent and sustainable accommodation.
The role involves supporting both rough sleeping clients and former rough sleeping clients who are in accommodation, to help them sustain their accommodation and prevent them from returning to rough sleeping. This will ensure partnership building and maintaining and sharing of best practise.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will also be confident in conducting assessments on the street and in day centre settings, and able to lead street based outreach shifts alongside volunteers. You will have experience in dealing with rough sleepers with multiple needs and able to work with challenging behaviour.
This role requires flexible shift work (consisting of a 7 day rota). The average shifts per week is 1-2 and other working hours are flexi, but during the day to allow for case work management. Early shifts are from 5am – 9am and late shifts are from 8pm – 2am.
