Are you passionate about learning and employment as a transformational experience for people impacted by homelessness?
St Mungo’s Recovery College is a pioneering service helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society to move forward in their lives and into work. We’re looking for a dynamic and innovative individual to join us to lead and set up our new Recovery College in Leicester ready for the opening in January.
It’s an exciting time to join our Recovery College programme. This will be the first Recovery College opened by St Mungo’s in a new area and is part of an initiative to develop new Recovery Colleges across the country. Read more about this on our website.
The Recovery College will be co-located at the Dawn Centre, and activities also run from other sites, so that it is as accessible as possible to the people who will most benefit.
The College will provide a programme of courses as well as one-to-one support to enable people to progress. Our clients are empowered to design and deliver courses themselves, and to take up volunteering opportunities within the service to gain further experience and confidence.
As the Hub Manager you will be responsible for:
The development and implementation of a high quality learning and employment programme
Overseeing the management and support of staff running the hub and the educational and pastoral care needs of students and volunteers
Building strong working relationships with the other agencies based at the Dawn centre, with other agencies working with the client group, businesses and education and skills agencies
To succeed, you will have:
- Knowledge of learning and training for vulnerable client groups and an understanding of the barriers to employment for people with a history of homelessness.
Experience in building strong multi-agency relationships
Ability to achieve and maintain high quality standards and best practice in the delivery of education programmes to a vulnerable client group.
Experience of staff management and the ability lead a high performing team.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities in support of their personal and professional development.
It is a requirement for this post that an enhanced DBS disclosure check will be undertaken for the successful candidate.
Please be advised that all appointments will be made on St Mungo’s current standard Terms and Conditions (T&Cs); this also applies to any internal candidates.
Closing date: 10am on 7 October 2019
Interview and Assessment date: 17 October 2019
