About the role
The Navigator Service (made up of two Senior Case Workers and a Navigator Co-ordinator) provides support to clients who are at risk of homelessness, who are needing support to sustain their tenancy, or to support clients find more suitable accommodation. In particular, the Navigator Services works with the local hostels to help clients move-on from supported accommodation into their own independent tenancies.
As a Senior Case Worker you will offer tailored support to each client covering a holistic range of areas including money management, substance misuse, housing options and mental health support. The Navigator Service aims to offer a flexible creative and personalised approach to clients which can mean that no two days are the same.
This role includes supporting clients across a number of St Mungo’s service and therefore requires travel.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with experience of working with vulnerable and an understanding of the needs of and issues faced by homeless people.
This role would suit someone who is solution focused, proactive and passionate about supporting clients to rebuild their lives. The ideal candidate would be able to offer personalised support to each client whilst demonstrating resilience and patience.
To succeed in this role you would require the ability to network, build enabling relationships and work efficiently in a multi-agency context. You will also require knowledge of housing legislation, welfare benefits, assessment and reconnection issues, EEA national eligibility and entitlements and community care.

St Mungo’s is proud to pay client facing staff above average for the sector. We run a cycle to work scheme and also offer season tickets loans to all staff.
St Mungo’s contribute 4% of your gross annual salary, and you are able to enrol in the Defined Contribution scheme following a successful probationary period in which the employer contribution is 6%.
