Lambeth Assessment Centre is a short stay assessment centre for people experiencing homelessness. Clients spend a target period of 28 days in the service before being allocated accommodation within Lambeth's wider Vulnerable Adults Pathway – the environment is fast-paced, busy and dynamic.
We’re looking to recruit 2 dynamic Project Support Workers who can inspire hope and bring about real and lasting change in our clients’ lives. The successful candidate will be joining a team dedicated to providing clients with a safe environment in which to build their confidence; promoting opportunities for positive change and supporting their recovery journey.
To be successful in this role you should have a sound understanding of the issues faced by homeless people; You will display a non-judgemental approach at all time and be able to ‘plug in’ clients to other essential support services (e.g. GP, DWP etc) at a rapid rate. In order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients, you should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills and be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with partner agencies; Strong written skills are essential in order to carry assessments and create risk management plans for all clients who enter the service.
Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays.
