St Wilfrid's Hospice
Bognor Regis, West Sussex (On-site)

Permanent, Part-time, 22.5 hours per week
Job description

Passionate about Customer Service?  Then we want to hear from you!

We have an exciting opportunity in our shop on Chalcroft Lane, Bognor Regis. This is one of our largest and busiest charity shops, and we’re seeking an enthusiastic Warehouse Operative to join our team.

Warehouse Operative – Chalcroft Shop, Bognor Regis
Hours: Part time, 22.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary:
£10,652 (full time equivalent is £17,750)

As Warehouse Operative, you’ll be the friendly face welcoming our supporters when they donate items to us to sell. Some of our donors will have been recently bereaved, and you’ll meet them with sensitivity and care. You’ll take items at the shop and also go out with our drivers to help them collect donations from people’s homes. You’ll unload, sort and store donated items including furniture, household items and clothes. As part of our friendly team you’ll work to keep a safe, clean and tidy warehouse, and create attractive shop floor displays. You’ll load up items that have been ordered by customers or for our other shops to sell, and also sort and load any items that we can’t sell for recycling.

By making sure waste is kept to a minimum, and actively offering gift aid to supporters, you’ll help us get the best value from donations.  You’ll complete gift aid paperwork, and have key holder responsibilities. It would help if you have experience of manual handling including two-person handling. If not, we’ll train you to make sure you can work safely.

Most of all, you’ll be part of a welcoming team who all work hard to make money so that St Wilfrid’s Hospice can make a difference to local lives.

Shift patterns include weekends and bank holidays, so flexible availability is needed. You’ll also have the opportunity to work extra hours on occasion.

In addition to a competitive salary we offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes a generous holiday entitlement starting at 27 days per year plus bank holiday entitlement (pro rata), a contributory pension scheme, or continuation to the NHS Superannuation Scheme, life assurance, and a contributory cash reimbursement plan.  We offer a friendly, challenging, yet supportive working atmosphere with a committed team of colleagues.
