Title: YEI Youth Coach
Location: Hartlepool, Stockton and Tees Valley
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week
Salary: £22,000 per annum
Contract: Until 31st July 2023.
As part of the Tees Valley Pathways Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) Programme, the jobholder will be responsible for supporting participants to progress. The YEI service supports young people (aged 16 to 29) who are struggling to achieve or progress into a positive destination. It will also support young people furthest away from the labour market by providing them with the skills they need to get into work and offer a flexible learning and skills fund.
This will be achieved by providing wide-ranging support including:
- Community transformation opportunities via community activities and groups.
- One-to-one coaching and mentoring, and group work (when necessary)
The Starfish Partnership provided mental health support to almost 3,000 young people (aged 16 to 29) in the Tees Valley last year. This YEI programme will provide additional support to 120 young people from January 2021 to July 2023. It will help young people who are struggling to achieve or progress in a positive destination or are far from the labour market. It will work with these young people to create individual plans that consider the action we need to take to help them tackle social isolation, build skills and move towards employment or enterprise.
