Job description

Starlight Children's Foundation is looking for an experienced operations manager to lead its hospital services department, bringing play and distraction to children dealing with serious illness.

Starlight is the national children’s charity that exists to preserve childhood throughout serious illness. We do this through our hospital play & distraction services, wish granting and Starlight Escapes. Access to play during serious illness is especially important as a contributor to successful treatment and healthy development, enabling children to grow and develop and to experience childhood as it should be.

We currently bring play and distraction into more than 800 hospitals and hospices across the UK, by methods as diverse as Starlight Gaming Bundles, Hospital Pantomime and Storytelling Tours and our signature Boost and Distraction Boxes of toys and activities, and with family visits curtailed and play areas closed, there has never been more demand. We’re therefore excited to be recruiting a dedicated Service Delivery Manager for our Hospital Services.

If you have experience in the operational management of service delivery, perhaps within a hospital or children’s environment, and a drive to innovate, then then you could be the person we need to join our team.

You’ll love working alongside colleagues to achieve our mission and enjoy the flexibility of a small team, where everyone actively participates in charity-wide projects and rolls their sleeves up as necessary.
