Job description

Fixed term post – 6 months, with potential to extend, depending on funding

Thanks to securing additional funding, Step Together Volunteering is looking to appoint a Project Administrator for a period of 6 months. This could be extended should further funding be secured.

Step Together Volunteering supports some of the most socially isolated and vulnerable people in England and Scotland. Using volunteering as an intervention, teamed with intensive 1-1 mentoring support, we enable our clients to develop the personal and practical skills needed to overcome the barriers they face. We support our clients to achieve positive outcomes and build a brighter future for themselves.

This is a new fixed-term role to support project staff who are delivering support to our clients. The role will be varied, and flexibility will be required to meet the needs of Project Managers. Maintaining accurate and up to date records so that we are able to evidence our work and draw down funding will be a key element, so attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently is essential.

The role will provide administrative support to staff delivering our programs to vulnerable and socially excluded people across England. The role will involve maintaining accurate client records using the charity’s case management system, scheduling appointments and meetings, maintaining up to date project records to enable accurate reporting to funders and timely draw down of funding. The post-holder will work closely with project staff based around England, as well as liaise regularly with the central team (currently all home-based in/near Bristol).

Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, this post will be home-based initially, but candidates should be within commutable distance of Bristol as the post will be office-based once we are able to return to office working.

This position requires self-motivation and the ability to manage your workload, and would be well-suited to someone with previous administration experience. The ability to relate well to a broad range of stakeholders is important, as is a friendly and approachable manner.

Applicants should be comfortable with remote working, and will be provided with a laptop and mobile phone. All work-related travel expenses are reimbursed.

Deadline for applications is Monday 7th December 5.00pm
