Crisis is the national charity for homeless people. We are dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
Our innovative education, employment, house and well-being services address individual needs and help homeless people to transform their lives.
About the role
Have you had experience of being homeless? Do you want to help create a campaign to change the way people think about homelessness.
In this exciting role as the campaign journalist, you will support people who are and have been homeless to share their experiences. You'll interview a wide range of people, and write up their stories to share online.
You don't need to have been a journalist before. But you'll need to have good writing skills and understand what makes a good story. It would be ideal if you have photography skills, or be willing and able to learn them. You'll have the confidence to talk to a range of different people to invite them to share their experiences.
You'll always treat people with dignity and respect and will make sure that the experience of sharing a story is a positive one. You'll need to follow Crisis procedures to make sure people give their full consent and understand how their stories work.
As a member of the team you will have access to wide range of employee schemes and benefits including:
- Interest free season ticket loan
- Interest free bicycle loan
- Rent deposit loan scheme
- Childcare voucher scheme
- 8% employer contribution pension
Alongside our excellent staff benefits, we are committed to your ongoing training and development to build your skills, experience, and career.
