Street Child, one of the UK’s fastest growing global children’s charities, have opened this fantastic opportunity to join a newly established ‘Major Partnerships team’ and play the leading role in the ‘crown jewel’ of our fundraising portfolio: our long-term, multi-million pound relationship with Liberty Global plc. We are seeking an outstanding, energetic, ambitious professional to primarily focus on this relationship. You will ensure brilliant delivery of the partnership’s two long-standing flagship events (a gala and a 2-day bike ride); and then and use your inter-personal skills, experience in strategic thinking and strong tactical delivery to deepen and innovate the global partnership more broadly – where the possibilities are considerable.
In our latest strategic period (2021-2023) Street Child is committed to growing income significantly through developing our major partnership approach. Over the past 12 years the charity has established fantastic networks and we are seeking to build a major partnerships team of committed staff to expand this into significant and lasting relationships. As a key player in the Major Partnerships Team, you will spend approx. 30% of your time on business development and relationship management across the corporate, major donor and trust space – both related to, and going beyond, the Liberty Global network.
This role will report into the Head of Fundraising and work closely with members of the senior management team to ensure the maximisation of this hugely important opportunity. Street Child has fundraising staff based across Europe and in the US as well as programmes colleagues worldwide. Collaboration, agility and cross-team working are at the heart of our modus operandi - we are seeking somebody who whole-heartedly embraces this way of working.
This is an incredibly important position for the charity. We love to give opportunity to ‘up and coming’ leaders developing their career and will gladly consider great candidates for whom this role would represent an exciting ‘step up’; equally we hugely value experience and track-record and a seasoned professional could be a great fit for this role in particular. Either way, a demonstrable passion for the mission of Street Child is fundamental.
An optimal location for this role would be in London, with a willingness to work both in our London office and/or at Liberty Global’s HQ in Hammersmith several days a week. It is anticipated that overseas travel may be required from time to time. A full-time employee is preferred but all excellent candidates able to offer at least the equivalent of 0.6FTE will absolutely be considered.
