Job description

In response to the ongoing challenges associated with the pandemic, Student Minds launched Student Space in August 2020, an ambitious mental health programme to provide additional support for students across England and Wales. It includes the commissioning of services (e.g. text support, services for minoritised students), online psychoeducation resources designed to be responsive to need, and a directory of services available through HE providers.

The programme was developed collaboratively with a variety of partners, thanks to up to £3 million of funding from the Office for Students (OfS) and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW). We recently announced that utilising the existing funding allocation, the Student Space programme delivery period has been extended from August 2021 until January 2022. It is expected that the programme will continue over the course of the whole 21/22 academic year.

This post holder will be responsible for the effective delivery of the next phase of this programme including leading on the effective day to day management of the Student Space programme, progressing a number of key workstreams (e.g. programme governance, service commissioning and management, monitoring and evaluation), as well as supporting the leads of other programme workstreams to deliver key outcomes (e.g. communications and partnerships, content, insights, website development). It is a role that involves coordinating a range of colleagues across a diverse and interesting range of activity.

Working closely with the CEO, the Student Space delivery team and senior stakeholders within partner organisations, this is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the 2.3 million students studying across England and Wales. This is a unique opportunity to join a collaboration happening at the intersection of innovation in mental health and wellbeing, student voice, and digital. We are looking for a confident and proactive project manager with excellent planning, multi-tasking skills and attention to detail to join our vibrant team and oversee this priority programme for Student Minds.
