You will be joining a newly formed, small team responsible for improving our current volunteer offering and working to create innovative and inspiring volunteer opportunities for the Students Association. You will work to encourage best practise for our volunteers and to create consistency between teams in the way we work with volunteers. As this is a new role, there are projects waiting to be taken up and there is definite scope for you to have a lasting impact on how the Students Association works with volunteers.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a passion for working with volunteers as well as good experience in the sector. We are looking for someone who loves a challenge and approaches projects in a creative and confident manner. Working in a small team, it is important that you are comfortable sharing ideas and working from your own initiative. You will be the sort of person who is looking to make a move into a role where you can make your mark on how things are done, as this is a brand new team for the Students Association.
The Open University Students Association is the largest Students Association in the UK serving the interests of over 200,000 part-time students spread across the UK, Europe and beyond. Our job is to represent the interests of this vast and extremely diverse body of students. Whilst we operate within a world-class University, we are not governed by the OU. The OU Students Association is an independent organisation, a registered charity in its own right, run by elected student leaders. Our small team of dedicated, professional staff provide the vital support needed to deliver excellent services across the breadth of our student population.
