The role 

We are looking for Housing Support Workers who can provide intensive housing management & support to service users in our supported housing projects. 

You will work proactively with service users who have been homeless and have complex needs to sustain their tenancies and move on into independent living.

You will also work empathetically to empower services users, actively engaging them with the community and helping them to support each other, to develop resilience, to live independently, and to be an asset to the community. 

The right fit 

• You will have prior experience with service users who have been homeless and/or have complex needs including, Mental health, substance misuse, domestic abuse & chaotic lives etc. 

• You will also have strong ICT skills. 

• You will be competent in facilitating support sessions and devising support plans to achieve successful outcomes. These will be person centred in their approach, identifying individual needs and strengths of each Service User. 

• You will have experience in working in the housing sector 

• You will have experience of liaising with partner agencies to compliment individual support packages

Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

This will be achieved through three service strands: 1) Peer support network, 2) Psychoeducation workshops, addressing common needs of men’s mental health 3) Outreach support to raise awareness of men’s mental health and promote this service.

The Men’s Minds Project Coordinator will work closely with the members in shaping the service and ensuring voices of men in Hounslow are heard and acted upon. This service will be staffed with 1 part-time (25hrs per week) Project Coordinator and a pool of peer led volunteers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the volunteers.

The Role

The role of the Men’s Minds Project Coordinator is to arrange and coordinate a range of psychoeducation, and peer-led workshops which will be delivered weekly. With the addition of attending various community and stakeholder events to deliver the outreach strand of the service.

The role will require hybrid and flexible working: onsite for all the peer/psychoeducation sessions but the with expectation to be attending various community events and services to promote the service.

Ruils is a user-led charity that supports disabled adults and people with long-term health and/or mental health conditions to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. They have a new opportunity for a Homeless Recovery Worker to join them to work with people who are experiencing repeat homelessness and rough sleeping and who face multiple challenges.

This is a key role in which you will support clients and help them to progress and achieve their goals. About the Peer Mentor Service

Shelter is delivering a Peer Mentor Service in partnership with the Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST) within Birmingham and Solihull’s Mental Health Foundation Trust. The FIRST service is a comprehensive recovery focussed multi-disciplinary team addressing the individual needs of our service users through tailored packages of care. It includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, Peer Mentors, Substance Use workers and Social Workers. Each service user will have an allocated Care Coordinator and Responsible Clinician who monitor, and review care and support needs and interventions.

The Peer Mentor role will engage with clients on the ward and within the community - with a primary focus on supporting clients with their transition away from staying on the ward to living in the community. The Peer Mentor service’s aim is to help people with multiple and complex needs to enhance the support available through the FIRST Pathway.

You’ll need to have been stable for at least 18 months and be willing to share details of your successful journey with others to help them. You will be looking to go into a career supporting vulnerable adults and this will be a great opportunity to gain experience. Basic computer skills will be needed, as well as the interest to develop and learn new skills.

Housing Plus Ltd based in Brent, London NW2 & NW10, 

We are currently recruiting support workers who will be able to work on a shift pattern that will include a rolling rota with a combination of days, evenings, sleep in nights and weekends including public holidays. The role can be part time or full time. Support Workers will have to be flexible re shifts. We know that some great people are available who may only be available for certain shifts eg nights or weekends. If that is you please apply and clearly specify your preferred availability.

Our supported accommodation is for young people aged 16-19 who are primarily refugees and asylum seekers and in the care of the local authority.

Day shift is 9am-5.30pm. Evening/Waking hours 5pm-11pm and 8-9am. This will be paid at the hourly rate of £11.95. The sleeping-in shift 11pm- 8am, payment is a flat rate £46.00 per night.

We are currently recruiting support workers who will work on a rota in our supported accommodation for young people aged 16-19 who are primarily refugees and asylum seekers and in the care of the local authority. These young people are preparing to live independently and we offer practical and emotional support to them.

The role requires you to record support to prepare reports, for the commissioning authority using IT as required. Familiarity with Googles docs and sheets is required.

The role of the support worker is to help young people to develop their independent living skills. This can involve being out and about with the young people – going shopping, attending interviews and appointments, support to attend college, helping them to know the area and its resources and, in the home, helping them to cook, clean and develop self-care skills. The evening / night shift is focussed more on tasks that can be completed in the placements or in groups such as cooking, cleaning, support with homework, film nights, recreational activities. Some creativity is encouraged to engage and inspire the young people.

 Alongside this you will have some responsibility for light household tasks to keep the house tidy and organised as well as undertaking health and safety checks. The time in the morning will be spent ensuring that the young people who need to be up and out are ready to attend college.

Some experience of working with young people, night working and lone working will be a big advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our friendly team and help support the growth of our LifeSkills Plus offer across London. You will identify and provide intensive support to adults with complex needs who are further away from employment or training by using a strength based approach, ensuring those accessing the programme receive appropriate practical and emotional support using a mixed programme of home visiting, informal and structured support groups.

You will deliver a range of face to face support and interventions to individuals with complex needs that focus on their strengths and which enable them to consider options and think differently, helping them to feel more empowered and able to face new challenges.

You will support and deliver face to face activities that increase confidence, improve mental health, widen social networks, help with budgeting and enable individuals to seek training, work or volunteering opportunities.

You will have experience of working in services that deliver positive outcomes for individuals and their families.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.

Morgan Hunt is working with a large Housing Association to recruit a temporary Community Centre Assistant for one of their award winning, health and wellbeing hubs locations in Old Trafford. The hub offers a wide range of facilities, community activities and services as well as 81 beautiful extra care apartments. The focus is on the local community and the people within it, where people can come to meet, eat, celebrate, collaborate, learn, and grow. A temporary need has arisen for Community Centre Assistant for a period of up to 2 months initially on a part time basis (4pm - 8pm), Monday to Friday.

The role - Community Centre Assistant

As a Community Centre Assistant, you will;

• Provide operational support to the day to day running of the community centre, including health and safety and customer support.
• You will provide a professional inclusive and customer focused service to the users of the community centre.
• Ensure centres are set up correctly in advance of bookings.
• Make sure the centre is clean and well-presented.
• Ensure hirers clear away at the end of a booking and leave the room ready for next user.
• Where relevant maintain schedules and records of building maintenance, reporting maintenance or repairs issues to the relevant team.
• Carry out health and safety checks and maintain appropriate records.
• Take responsibility for opening and closing the building when directed including evenings and weekends as required.
• Inspect community centres in accordance with procedures, maintain all associated registers and records and ensure all actions identified are rectified.
• Work collaboratively with internal colleagues and teams, residents, and user groups to ensure effective, efficient and customer focused delivery of services relating to the centres.
• Ensure accurate and up to date records are kept using appropriate systems.

The candidate;

• Able to demonstrate experience of delivering customer focused services in a demanding, public facing environment.
• Highly organised, able to prioritise and manage a demanding workload.
• Good communication skills.
• Great customer service skills.
• A basic DBS is required for this role.
