Co-locating, in a health service, an Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDVA), a Domestic Abuse (DA) Coordinator and a violence prevention worker has never been trialled before anywhere in the UK.

About the role:

This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office near Old Street and in co-location at Kings College Hospital. You will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims to increase safety & reduce harm
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse
• Run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need:

• knowledge of help-seeking barriers & support needs of victims of domestic abuse
• a good understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
• knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
• understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding thee
• direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people
• good communication, negotiation & advocacy skills, both written & verbal, able to interact with a range of agencies and individuals
• have strong crisis management skills, able to deal with stressful and difficult situations

Location: Hybrid role with Nominal office working in Chorley, and regular travel to venues around Lancashire for tenant visits, training, and team meetings.

Lancashire Mind’s Tenancy Management Service works in partnership with several registered housing partners across Lancashire to manage a portfolio of properties on their behalf and provide tenancy support to people living with moderate mental health conditions.

We care about making a difference to people’s lives and through the provision of regular support, we work with each person to improve their mental wellbeing and build the confidence and skills to sustain their tenancy and move on to independent living.

We use an outcome-based approach, making sure that each person is involved in their own support planning from the start of their journey with us and achieve this by offering encouragement and one to one support to help each person to understand and manage their tenancy, develop social and daily living skills, gain access to essential services to manage their mental and physical health and help and guidance to maximise their benefits and improve their economic wellbeing.

Your new role

We are looking for a new Tenancy Management Worker to join our small and friendly team to manage a caseload of customers who have complex needs including mental health conditions, substance misuse, homelessness, and a possible history of offending.

Your job will be to work closely with these individuals to promote independent living and help them to achieve and sustain their tenancies. This is a challenging and varied job which is often rewarding, particularly when the people we have supported achieve their own goals and move on to build better lives.

What you will need to succeed

You will need experience of working with people with complex needs ideally in a supported or social housing setting and have the resilience to support people with a diverse range of mental health conditions to overcome barriers to independent living.

It is important that the right candidate is an excellent communicator, able to listen and understand people’s needs but also confident communicating and liaising with other local services and partner agencies to ensure each person has the right support in place.

An excellent working knowledge of safeguarding practices for protecting vulnerable people is also key to this role and the successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate proven experience of this.

Ideally, an understanding of the issues which arise within the social housing sector or experience working in a similar role would be an advantage.

You will need to be a good team player, with the ability to work well with others and be able to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision.

This is an essential car user role as it requires extensive travel to and from tenants’ properties in Lancashire.

About the Service

Our refuges provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence, last year nearly 1000 women and children found a safe place to stay in one of our refuges.  Refuge Case workers provide emotional and practical support this can include housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, benefits, financial matters and accessing therapeutic support services.

About the Role

You will be a keyworker for a caseload of (on average 6-10 women) living in or moving on from the refuge.  You will be with them from the start of their journey to the end, welcoming and helping them settle when they arrive to when they are ready to move on to their next home.  This includes carrying out risk and needs assessments and developing support plans.  Your work with service users will ensure their practical needs as well as emotional needs are taken care of. You also provide a vital role in keeping the service a safe and secure environment for the women and children who now call the refuge home. It is a face paced, target driven role.

About You

Key to this role is experience of working/volunteering with anyone who has experienced any form of social disadvantage.  A knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children is important as well as an ability to build supportive and empowering relationships.  You must be open and willing to learn new skills which will build on your working practice with service users to co-develop and deliver support planning, risk assessment & linking in with other agencies where needed. 

Knowledge and experience of risk assessing, case management and legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits is ideal however not required as we are confident that we can train around these.

As a Support and Advocacy Officer you will join a skilled team who collectively provide a unique UK-wide support and advocacy service to over 1500 members. 

You will primarily provide direct support and practical guidance to our Fabry members.  This patient group is largely adult focused but there will be elements of family and child support. About the role:

Once in post you will benefit from the mandatory comprehensive training programme which will build on your existing skills and experience to prepare you for the role. Homicide Service training includes, criminal justice process; trauma informed approach to support; supporting traumatically bereaved families; personal and professional resilience.

As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards. You will need to be able to travel to home visits within, and occasionally outside of area, and therefore a driving license and use of a car are essential. You will be reimbursed for all travel costs.

We are in search of recovery focused, passionate, and caring people to join our very friendly team of Early Intervention in Psychosis Practitioners.

As a Band 5, you may already have experience of working in mental health services or have a passion to work in mental health together with a wealth of relevant skills that come from other professions such as teaching, probation or youth work.

You’ll be joining a supportive team who are passionate about recovery and trauma informed care. You’ll hold a of caseload of clients with first episode psychosis and you will provide individualised care to help them move forward with their goals and recovery.

Crisis House is a community-based crisis service, working to a recovery model with the aim to reduce the amount of A&E and Hospital admissions through evidence-based CBT interventions. We provide a range of intervention support and are partnered with the NHS, working alongside the Home Treatment Team who offer clinical governance. Additionally, we offer a range of services for people with mental ill health to become more connected to their local community, building on their social engagement. We signpost to local services and host awareness days that truly reflect the community we support to break down stigma and discrimination. Offering support 24/7 with a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.
