A Recovery Practitioner is required to join the opiate team of a Drug and Alcohol Service based in Ilford on a rolling contract. The Recovery Practitioner will be required on site from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a specific caseload of individuals facing various complex challenges, such as mental health issues, homelessness, criminal involvement, chronic illnesses, domestic abuse, sexual exploitation, and self-harm.
- Conduct thorough assessments of needs and risks, and develop personalised risk management and recovery plans, aligning with clients' individual recovery objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, assuming leadership roles as necessary.
- Implement evidence-based interventions and contribute to clinical and complex case discussions, demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience Required:
- Outstanding proficiency in crafting reports and case notes
- Proven track record of operating within substance use treatment and recovery environments
- Specialised expertise in one or more accompanying complexities alongside substance use, such as mental health, chronic conditions, criminal behaviour, homelessness, domestic violence, etc.
- Comprehensive grasp of risk assessment and risk mitigation within the realm of substance use and associated complexities
- Extensive background in health and social care practice

A Tenancy Support Worker is required to work on a 3 month rolling contract for a homelessness charity based in Kingston. This role has the potential to go permanent. The Tenancy Support Worker will be required to provide floating support to clients living in supported housing or privately rented accommodation. This role will operate 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of delivering top-notch support services to individuals who were previously homeless or vulnerably housed.
- Collaborate with assigned clients to evaluate their requirements and secure suitable housing.
- Aid clients in setting and striving towards personal objectives that support maintaining a tenancy in supported or privately rented accommodations.
- Be accountable for offering guidance, support, encouragement, crisis intervention, and future planning, tailored to the specific needs of service users, aiming for their independence.
- Conduct assessments and casework with clients seeking support or resettlement, integrating support provision approaches.
- Assist clients with financial matters, including welfare, housing benefits, and grant claims, coordinating with relevant agencies when required.
Experience Required:
- Previous engagement in the field of homelessness or social care
- Dedication to maintaining confidentiality and respecting professional boundaries
- Capability to interact with clients facing challenging behaviours
- Strong IT competencies, including accurate and prompt record-keeping using software like CHAIN and Inform
- Proficient in drafting concise and efficient reports, client notes, and external correspondence
- Skilled in conducting client assessments and interviews
- Capacity for independent work, demonstrating creativity in managing diverse tasks
