Power2 is a fast growing and energetic children and young people’s charity that has supported 27,000 young people since 2001. Our new Programme Leads will work as part of a team in secondary schools to support young people, their families, and school staff to ensure that at-risk pupils make the most of their education and improve their life chances. Work will include 1:1 support and delivery of Power2’s core programmes, including Teens and Toddlers and Power2 Progress. The successful candidates could be based in one school or travel between multiple schools.

We are looking for a Live Well Little Hulton Development Worker who will play a central role in the development of a community-led network of trusted voices that will enable local people to access activities, services, and information in support of their emotional and physical wellbeing.
Initially, Live Well Little Hulton will use innovative and creative methods to engage with the community to establish baseline information and insights to inform the development of the network. We are looking for an Assistant Community Manager to join our Community of people recovering from, or experiencing homelessness, The team is small, but very supportive and committed to the residents, ex residents and guests that the community serves. This is an active role for a hands-on person who believes in the potential for community to affect personal change. This is a full time permanent role, mainly based in Kentish Town.
We support our residents through a therapeutic community structure. We aim to offer an accepting framework in which human relationships can be nourished. We work from a main residential house and provide outreach services to those still left on the streets. We are looking for a person to work in the residential house and also have a regular presence on street outreach.
While and interest and feeling for homelessness issues is vital to the work, other experience of social care settings, therapeutic models and communities are also valuable.

We are looking for an Independent Advocate to join our team working on our Advocacy contract on a part time basis in Broadmoor. Our ideal candidate will have worked in advocacy, information and advice or similar role before, ideally in a health, social care or voluntary setting and will have experience of working with vulnerable adults.
The candidate will have strong experience working with adults at risk who are affected by significant health and social care issues who find it difficult to speak up for themselves; and experience providing persuasive verbal and written representations.
In this role the ideal candidate will be supporting a wide range of adults with profound and multiple needs. The successful candidate will need a good working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations to enable them to work in partnership with clients and professionals, gaining an understanding of their issues by listening, exploring options and taking action as directed by them.
You will need to have a flexible attitude and must be comfortable handling highly sensitive information whilst able to work well independently and confidently on behalf of others. Strong communication skills and time management skills will be required and you will need to be computer literate. A full induction and training schedule along with IAP (Independent Advocacy Qualification) will be provided as well as ongoing peer mentoring and support.

About the Service
This is a pilot working as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.
Purpose of Post
Providing advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and remain a source of independent support for all clients. Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly and that a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach is embedded approach in all aspects of the roles.
Service Objectives
- To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
- To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
- To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
- To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
- To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
- To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
- To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
- To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.

As a Benefits, Debt and Money Adviser, you will provide a comprehensive community-based debt advice service to beneficiaries who are experiencing difficulties, advising on their legal position and all the suitable options available through a mixture of face-to-face, telephone and email interactions.
In addition, you will carry out income maximisation through identifying and advising on entitlement, and the take up of appropriate benefits. There is an expectation you will also deliver specialist level welfare benefits casework including the preparation of written submissions and representation at appeal tribunals. To achieve this, full training and coaching is provided with an expectation to complete the training framework and sign off process within two years of appointment.
The role is home based with occasional travel required throughout the region, this includes travel to home visits and tribunal locations, in addition to national team meetings and training. We do cover travel expenses.
Living within the Northeast of England or Yorkshire area or in commutable distance to one of the areas is essential in being able to undertake this role.
This position is also subject to pre-employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check.

About us
Providence Row believes that no one should have to sleep rough and that everyone should have access to the support they need to find a safe place to call home. The Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant (RSDATG) programme was established in 2020 and is based within The Dellow Centre; run by Providence Row. The service aims to support and enhance the quality of life for all locally connected rough sleepers in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets; by offering through care service from initial engagement and harm reduction and for some, then moving into treatment, and then recovery.
The role:We are recruiting to fill two vacancies. The role will involve but is not limited to the following.
- Holding a caseload of people who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness through eviction, where their substance and/or alcohol use has impacted on their housing and ability to sustain accommodation
- To work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes are achieved, safeguarding is shared and to increase the persons access to support services.
- Increase the total number of people accessing structured treatment & recovery through a bespoke pathway for rough sleepers as well as sustain treatment for these individuals, reduce their risks, and support bespoke planned treatment exits or transitions into community-based services (continuity of care).
- Reducing barriers of accessing Primary Healthcare services, such as GP registration, attending hospital appointments and specialist health services by advocating for and supporting clients.
- Attending and coordinating client related MDT’s and attendance at meetings relating to the rough sleeping community
- Delivering a non-judgemental, non-coercive needle exchange service that centres each person’s own goals in regard to their substance use and overall wellness.
- You will lead on delivery of Naloxone distribution & training internally and to external partners
- You have excellent communication skills and can create positive working relationships with a wide range of people, including external services.
- You will support the development of the service and ensure that you are delivering a solution-focussed and strength-based approach.

Essex Pedal Power Bike Mechanic
Salary: £8,718.90 (FTE £21,216)
Location: Basildon, Essex
Hours: Part time 15 hours per week to include occasional weekend and evening working
Contract type: Fixed term contract until 31st December 2024
Essex Pedal Power is an exciting community cycling programme that aims to support more people to cycle by removing barriers to participation. The programme provides FREE high-quality bikes to eligible residents living in the borough. The Essex Pedal Power Basildon team work closely with local organisations and employers to identify people who will benefit most from a free bike. So far, the team have given away nearly 300 free bikes, and given the success of the project more funding has been received to extend this work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an existing team who are dedicated to supporting the community and removing barriers to participation. The postholder will be responsible to the local project coordinator, and day-to-day support and supervision will be provided by the team’s full time cycle mechanic. As part-time cycle mechanic you will be responsible for building a range of bikes, general maintenance and servicing of our fleet and supporting the distribution of bikes at our giveaway events. Other roles may include delivering bike repair sessions and maintenance workshops, refurbishing second hand bikes and working alongside volunteers. The majority of your work will take place at our bike workshop in Billericay.
The postholder will be expected to work 15 hours across the week, including occasional evenings and weekends, with flexible working.
We will consider adjusting these hours for the right candidate.
Main duties
- Build a range of bikes to cater for the local communities that we serve.
- Carry out general repairs and the servicing of our bike fleet using an agreed schedule as approved by the Manager. This will include bike repairs being carried out in our workshop and also at our Bike Hubs in the community.
- Identify, order and fit a range of bike parts that are needed to ensure the maintenance, or enhancement, of our bike fleet within an agreed budget.
- To work in an entrepreneurial way with the local community to deliver Cycle Maintenance Workshops and Dr. Bike training sessions.
- To maintain an electronic inventory of our bike stock and an electronic servicing record for our bike fleet.
- To work with the Manager to maintain the brand and integrity of our projects.
- Any other reasonable tasks as required by the Manager.
Duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the post or the level of responsibility. You will be working alongside our full time cycle mechanic who will provide necessary guidance on the above duties.
Knowledge, skills and experience
All criteria are essential, and your application will be assessed on all points detailed below.
- Cytech or City and Guild Cycle Mechanic qualified, at least at Level 1 (preferably at Level 2).
- Passion and an interest in cycling and understanding of the benefits that cycling/physical activity can bring.
- Comprehensive experience of working in a bicycle workshop or experience with bikes/carrying out bicycle builds and pre-delivery inspection of new bicycles is desired.
- Ability to build a range of bikes upon delivery from our preferred supplier(s) to meet the organisation's deadlines and support the bike giveaway roll out.
- Good partnership and relationship management skills.
- Excellent team player with the ability to deliver a first class technical service through high standards and the efficient turnaround of maintenance and repairs work.
- Clear knowledge of quality assurance processes. Experience of using quality assurance to assist service delivery.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
- Excellent written, verbal and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Knowledge and understanding of the cooperative principles and commitment to ensuring their delivery in the course of undertaking the role.
- Experience of working proactively, working on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Confident to be customer facing to support the needs of the local communities.

Deputy Residential Manager

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager or an exceptional Senior Support Worker/Senior Practitioner with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, to support the Registered Manager and Team of Practitioners in delivering outstanding services in our all-female therapeutic unit in SW8. A good communicator, you will be confident, forward-thinking, passionate and authentic. You possess applied knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
We have a strong track record in providing excellent semi-independent provision to young women aged 16+, and in scoring outstandingly in local authority service reviews. We are currently transitioning to a Children’s Home and are approaching the final stages of our registration with Ofsted.

Do you have?
