Job description

Support Dogs have a very exciting role available within the puppy team of our training department. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, driven and motivated individual.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a number of puppies, who will be at various stages in their training, be capable of providing structured training to each and have the ability to identify potential behavioural problems with the ability of writing a specific training plan in accordance with the problem in order to overcome it. The role will also include working closely alongside our valued volunteers who care for our puppies, ensuring they are receiving excellent support, regular training sessions and are being advised accordingly. Other duties within this role will include the recruitment, assessment and training of new volunteers.

The successful candidate will be required to work off site for periods of time so they must show the ability to work alone effectively, use their own initiative and have excellent time management and communication skills.

Previous and proven experience of working with puppies, within a professional capacity, such as planning and conducting puppy training classes to a group of people is an essential quality that all candidates must have. Occasional overnight duties and some weekend work will be required from time to time.
