Could you be our new Service Manager?
Who we’re looking for
Are you dynamic and resourceful? Are you motivated by helping people to help themselves? Can you enthuse a volunteer team to support people experiencing complex and emotionally demanding issues? We’re seeking a Service Manager to maintain and develop our client-facing service in the Leeds Combined Court Centre.
You will be an excellent communicator, as well as a practical, well organised and hardworking individual, preferably with experience in the voluntary sector or equivalent transferable experience.
Reporting to the Regional Service Manager (North), you will be responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers, facilitating day-to-day operations, building and sustaining relationships with key contacts in the courts and the local area, and contributing to a fundraising target.
The role will normally be based in a dedicated office in the Leeds Combined Court Centre, but the impact of Covid-19 means that there may be temporary periods of working from home and managing client support remotely.
About Support Through Court
Support Through Court is an independent charity providing practical and emotional support to people facing the court process without legal representation. Because of Covid-19, we have recently developed remote services as well as our court-based in-person support.
Most people we see are unfamiliar with - and may be frightened of - the courts, and often face serious issues that could affect their children and relationships, finances, or the security of their homes. We aim to empower people facing court alone, helping them to go through the court process with dignity and confidence.
Together, we can ensure that no one faces court alone.
What we can offer you
We’re a highly regarded, energetic and friendly charity, offering a rewarding experience helping people in immediate need; we also provide 28 days holiday for full time staff, plus bank holidays; pension scheme enrolment, with optional salary sacrifice, and access to selected extra benefits.
How to apply
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Lizzie Iron, Head of Service, in the first instance.
Applicants should apply with a CV and a covering letter explaining persuasively why we should offer you the post. It is important that your letter should provide evidence of the criteria detailed in the person specification.
Closing date: 4pm on Friday 21 January 2022
Interviews will be held week commencing 31 January 2022
