As a Specialist Advocacy Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting parents with LDAD through their journey of parenting. From navigating complex legal proceedings to accessing essential services, you'll be their trusted ally, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent advocacy support to parents with LDAD on various issues.
- Help parents understand the child protection process and make informed decisions.
- Advocate for parents' rights, ensuring fair treatment and access to services.
- Work in partnership with parents to navigate care proceedings and other challenges.
- Monitor and report on advocacy provision's impact and effectiveness.
- Build positive relationships with external partners and represent the service at meetings.

We are looking for a Careers Adviser to join our Career Pathways team in Leeds. Career Pathways provides careers advice to disabled young people. It supports them in their transition from youth to adulthood.
Permanent, 35 hours per week.
Location: Working at Scope's Leeds office and working from home (hybrid)

About the role
Career Pathways equips young disabled people with knowledge and confidence. The service enables them to fulfil their career aspirations and personal goals.
As a Careers Adviser you will be giving careers advice to young disabled people in schools across Leeds, at our office and online. We are offering a hybrid model of delivery so working from home for part of your week is available.
About you
- You will have experience of supporting young disabled people to build their confidence and work towards their goals. This could be in either an education or social care setting.
- You will have the confidence to deliver 1:1 and group sessions. These will take place in person and online.
- You will be able to produce clear and relevant action plans. These action plans will aid customers to explore and achieve their career goals

We are looking to recruit a Parent Adviser (specialising in sleep) who will have experience of caring for a disabled child or demonstrable experience of working closely with families of disabled children.
Fixed term for 12 months, 35 hours per week
Location: The role will be based at Scope's Peterborough office and there will also be some working at home.
Travel will also be required around Northamptonshire to attend meetings with customers and the team. You will have a good local knowledge of the area.
Some travel to Scope's London head office (E15 2GW) may be required occasionally as well as part of the role.

As a Parent Adviser you will be responsible for delivering this service to customers by managing a personal caseload and providing emotional support and practical advice to your diverse customer base continuous training, supervision and support will be available.

- Tracking, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of the team's activities, implementing strategies to improve outreach and support effectiveness.

Energy Advisers - Leeds will manage a caseload of disabled households struggling with their energy and water bills, supporting, and empowering them over the phone. Customers in need of either more in-depth support, or support with water bills, will be referred to you by a separate team of advisers.

The hours for this role will be varied over shift patterns from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday

The role
In this role you will be:
Reviewing and confirming details from a previous assessment with the customer and conduct a second assessment to fully understand their support needs.
Developing goal-based action plans that clearly show how the customers support needs will be addressed.
Where needed, complete actions on customer’s behalf such as speaking to a supplier or submitting an application. Provide clear and detailed updates to the customer afterwards.
Measure, record and track “distance travelled” for each customer in caseload and ensure that an evidence-based approach is adopted to recording the customer journey
To work collaboratively within the team to provide support where needed to ensure KPI’s are achieved
You will manage a personal caseload and provide practical advice that may be required for your diverse customer base
About You
You will have a strong background in a customer focused environment, preferably on a helpline and experience of communicating with difficult and complex information via telephone.
You will have the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers with an understanding of different needs and respond to these accordingly.
You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate with customers and colleagues in a clear, meaningful, and effective way.
This service helps customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. Therefore, you will demonstrate effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.
Being able to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to succeed within this role.
It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Methodical, with excellent attention to detail when using databases.

About this role:
As a member of YVC’s team of Health and Wellbeing Facilitators you will work closely with colleagues from South Tyneside’s Physical Health Hub, and Primary Care Mental Health Team to support people in South Tyneside, in particular those with learning disabilities and those who require support with their mental health, to meet their wellbeing and physical health needs.
You will help people to access the health services and support they need by ensuring people have information that is accessible to them, by supporting services to make reasonable adjustments, and by supporting the delivery of treatment and assessment programmes under the direction of practitioners.
You will also link with Social Care and Voluntary Sector services to ensure that people can access a range of support in order to improve their health and wellbeing. You will ensure that people’s voice is both heard and acted on to improve this support.

Main Responsibilities:
· Take part in relevant supervision, support and training to ensure YVC deliver a consistent and high-quality service.
· You will promote mental and physical health and wellbeing by:
o Getting to know people who access our service and supporting them
to identify the health issues that matter most to them.
o Linking the person with their GP / Primary Care Health Hub for their annual health check/ mental health program.
o Helping people identify and understand their own health, wellbeing and social needs and empowering people around accessing reasonable adjustments to address their barriers to services.
o Aiding the person to understand their Health Action Plan and what matters to me program.
o Promoting people’s self-confidence and develop communication skills around health needs.

· Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the service, including the collection of case studies, data and by contributing to feedback and evaluation sessions with the aim of improving the service.

Person Specification:
